Kids rely on frequent snacks throughout the day to keep their little bodies moving. The problem we run into as parents is finding healthy snacks — especially when we’re on the go. One easy solution? The Good Bag for Kids! Yay!
The Good Bag for Kids was founded by Dr. Natalie Geary, a board certified pediatrician who’s dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle which incorporates smart food choices. Good Bags contain products that are natural, nut-free, organic, and of course, kid-friendly.
There are a variety of bags to choose from, including a gluten-free option, as well as special travel packs. Different age-appropriate versions are available for children 1 & up, as well as 3 & up.
I was recently sent a Good Bag Travel Pack (age 1 & up) for review. Let’s see what was inside!
Everything came tucked inside of this resealable bag complete with a built-in handle for easy carrying.
Safety Wristband & Informational Booklet – All of the travel kits come with a safety wristband that includes a spot to fill in mom and dad’s cell phone numbers. Definitely a great idea for little ones — especially if you’re going to a heavily populated event. The booklet explains the benefits of healthy snacking and also includes a couple coupons for the products featured in the bag.
Snacks – Clif Kid Organic Twisted Fruit Rope (made with real fruit — I ate it myself and it was yummy), Enjoy Life Chocolate Chip Cookies (allergy-friendly, gluten-free, nut-free vegan cookies), and Enjoy Life Cocoa Loco Baked Chewy Bar (also allergy-friendly, all natural). A nice variety of kid-friendly sweet treats!
Plum Organics Fruit & Grain Mish Mash – Good Bags always include a healthy protein. This blend of organic whole grains provides natural protein from quinoa (a complete vegetarian protein source). These pouches are definitely a must for kiddos on the go. Convenient, healthy, and kid’s love ‘em!
“What to Doodle?” Book & Crayons – This is a cute little book to keep kids occupied during long car/plane rides. It features over 60 different drawings that are half finished — it’s your little one’s job to complete the pictures and color them in. Also included are a pack of triangular crayons that won’t roll off your child’s work surface. Smart!
Fun Toy – Every Good Bag also comes with a little toy to keep kids busy. What kid doesn’t like big, brightly colored bounce balls?
A Healthy Fat, Probiotic, and Fruit Supplement – To keep little bodies healthy on the go, they’ve included Barlean’s Omega Kids Swirl Fish Oil, a BioGaia Probiotic Straw, and Amazing Grass Kidz Superfood Wild Berry Fruit & Veggie Supplement Mix.
The Good Bag for Kids Travel Pack is definitely a great option for healthy (and fun!) eating on the go. There was a nice variety of snacks, activities, and “body maintenance” items. The only thing that would have made it a little better for me is if there was one less “sweet treat” and maybe something like multigrain crackers or lightly salted popcorn instead. Other than that, I thought it was great!
