March 2017 Bitchy Box unboxing time!

If you haven’t heard, Bitchy Box is a new subscription box that delivers goods to help “brighten any woman’s darkest week of the month”. Unlike most time of the month boxes that send you actual menstrual supplies, Bitchy Box takes a different approach by including FUN things that’ll make your period more bearable. You can expect to receive items such as sweet and/or salty treats, handmade beauty items, accessories, themed jewelry, and more. I should note that the website includes a disclaimer stating that this subscription box is not PC and if you’re offended by “dirty words” they might not be the subscription box for you. So this may not be the best choice to buy your pre-teen, but period vets (such as myself) who are able to curse freely will certainly enjoy it. 😉

Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.

Subscriptions are $25/month with a 3-month plan, or less with longer commitments. Shipping within the US is free.

Let’s see what’s in my March 2017 Bitchy Box!

Bitchy Box review

The box! — It now ships with a paper wrapping over it, which both protects it and hides the not-so-subtle description on the side — “Angry Vajayjay Survival Kit” — from your nosy neighbors and/or curious mailman.

Bitchy Box review

A peek inside!

Bitchy Box info

Bitchy Box contents

An info booklet listed all of the items I’d find inside the March “Murder in My Pants” themed box. There was also recipes for “O+ Blood Punch” and “Redrum Bars”. 😉

Evidence bag

Albanese gummies

Albanese Dark Chocolate Raspberry Jellies

Tucked into a brown paper “Evidence” bag were a package of Albanese Dark Chocolate Raspberry Jellies, which are just as the name suggests — chewy raspberry flavored jelly candies covered in smooth dark chocolate. Since they’re not vegan-friendly, I passed them along to my dad, proving that period boxes can (and should) be enjoyed by everyone.

Harebrained period panties

period panties

Harebrained “Crime Scene” Period Panties

Here’s another reminder that this box is definitely not intended for the PC/easily offended crowd. 😉 These “Crime Scene” panties feature police tape and a bloody mess on the front, with a “Blood Hound” cigar-smoking detective on the backside. A not-so-subtle way of letting your significant other know what’s going down down there? Ha.

Less S.O.S. wipes

down there wipes

GoodWipes More Fresh, Less S.O.S. Down There Wipes

A messy crime scene is gonna need some serious clean up… Bitchy Box included 30 of these individually wrapped “Down There” wipes to freshen things up a bit. The lavender-scented wipes are infused with a gentle formula that’s pH balanced, alcohol-free, paraben-free and hypoallergenic for your most sensitive areas. They’re also flushable!

Yum Bitz

YumBitz Double Chocolate Fudge Cookies

I don’t see an obvious “Murder in my Pants” connection here, other than maybe needing a healthy dose of chocolatey goodness after losing so much blood? (A bit of a stretch there.) Anywhooo, these mini cookies are made with all natural ingredients and have a soft, brownie-like consistency. The company also makes a point to give back by helping to feed the hungry in their home base of Detroit.

I gotta say, I didn’t quite enjoy March’s Bitchy Box as much as the intro box I reviewed back in January, but it was still a… unique box to open. 😉 I think the quirky novelty items from the first box were what made that one so much more fun. Also, having two of the four items be non-vegan treats that I couldn’t personally enjoy was kind of a bummer. (Not that that would be an issue for probably 99.999% of their subscribers.) That said, the Crime Scene panties were definitely the highlight of the box this month. 🙂

March 2017 Sleek Treat

Sleek Treat review

A 2-sided info card listed all of the items inside March’s box, along with photos and brief descriptions for each one.

Cracked Candy

cracked candy

Cracked Candy in Peppermint Ice

These xylitol-sweetened candies resemble little pieces of dry ice and have a great minty flavor. They’re made with vegan-friendly/non-GMO ingredients and thanks to the xylitol, they can even reduce the cavity causing bacteria that leads to tooth decay. Cool!

Caffe D'Vita cocoa

Caffe D’Vita Sugar Free Hot Cocoa & Cappuccino

March’s box included 3 samples of sugar-free mixes from Caffe D’Vita: Mocha Cappuccino, Hot Cocoa, and French Vanilla Cappuccino. Each one is sweetened with Splenda and contain no trans fat or hydrogenated oils. The cappuccinos can be enjoyed either hot or over ice.

XyloSweet

XyloSweet

If you prefer your hot cocoa & cappuccino to be a little sweeter, Sleek Treat included 3 packets of XyloSweet. It’s an all natural sweetener made with 100% xylitol, which contains a third of the calories of common table sugar and also has a low glycemic index.

Detour protein bar

Detour Peanut Butter Cream Bar

This protein bar looks delicious and I really wish it was vegan-friendly. It has a peanut buttery core that’s topped with a creamy layer of peanut butter and coated in low-sugar milk chocolate. Each bar has an impressive 30 grams of protein and just 2 grams of sugar.

Project 7 gum

Project 7 Rainbow Ice Gourmet Gum

I’ve gotten this gum in a different subscription box quite a while ago, but never actually tried it myself. I like that it’s made in the USA and helps support anti-bullying programs, however the package does state that it includes genetically modified ingredients (as well as other questionable ones). The reviews on Amazon are mixed, but a lot of them do say that it tastes just like rainbow ice, so that’s cool. 😉

ChocZero

ChocZero Dark Chocolates

These all natural, low carb chocolates are sweetened with a monk fruit and fiber blend. Ingredients include fair trade premium dark chocolate, soluble corn fiber, monk fruit extract, and Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans. They’re non-GMO and vegan-friendly too!

Spry Gems mints

Spry Gems Lemon Crème Mints

These naturally flavored lemon crème mints are sweetened with 100% xylitol. They’re also fortified with calcium to help remineralize tooth enamel while providing a sweet, yet tart flavor experience.

Another nice assortment of sugar-free goodies from Sleek Treat. My favorite items this month were the vegan-friendly dark chocolates, Cracked Candy, and Spry Gems. 🙂  — Remember, for a limited time you can save 50% on your first box with coupon code ROSEBUD50!

Okay, let’s see what’s inside the March 2017 Loot Crate!

Loot Crate unboxing

The familiar black Loot Crate box.

Primal Loot Crate review

Loot Crate info

The theme for March’s box was “Primal” and the mini mag/info booklet included lots of info on each product, as well as available variants that you can purchase in the Loot Crate Vault (shop). Usually there are interviews and various articles relating to the theme, but it looks like they just expanded on the item details this month and left the other features out. Weird.

Loot Crate box art

I should probably mention that the March box can be turned into a T-Rex. I really don’t have the patience (or time) for such things, but you can get an idea of what it’s supposed to look like in the photo above. I believe it also has a tail. 😉

Loot Crate Primal Rage shirt

Loot Crate Overwatch shirt

Exclusive Overwatch Winston Primal Rage T-Shirt

I had absolutely no clue what this shirt was all about until reading the mini mag’s description. I learned that the design is based on “Winston’s ‘Primal Rage’ Spray” (graffiti tag) from Overwatch. Oh, and that Winston is a “hyper-intelligent ape” whose special ability is basically to go HAM on his enemies. So now I know.

Die Cast Metal Wolverine figure

Loot Crate Wolverine figure

Exclusive 100% Die Case Metal X-Men Logan Wolverine Figure

This Loot Crate exclusive Wolverine figure is made of 100% die cast metal. Very cool! Its colors and details are beautifully done, and given the material it’s got some nice weight to it. Loot Crate sent 3 different variants of the piece. — Subscribers could have received plain ol’ Logan (this one), Old Man Logan, or Raw Adamantium Logan.

Jurassic World warning sign

Loot Crate Edition Jurassic World Warning Sign

While this is definitely a “geeky” item, I honestly don’t see anyone aside from hardcore Jurassic Park/World fans or 8 year old boys actually displaying this sign anywhere within view. Just sayin’. 😉 If you happen to fall into one of those 2 categories, they did include some zip ties to help with installation.

Predator bottle opener Loot Crate

Exclusive Predator Bottle Opener

Another item that Loot Crate sent variants of this month… Subscribers could have received either Gort from Predator 2 (shown above) or the Jungle Hunter from the original Predator. Both are solid metal bottle openers with hallowed out backs.

Loot Crate Primal Pin

Exclusive March 2017 Loot Pin

March’s pin exclusive pin allowed subscribers to unlock free digital copies of Savage #1 and #2 from Valiant in HD and Guided View on your device.

Welp, another genre I wasn’t too psyched about, but a fairly solid Loot Crate box nonetheless. Although I think this is the first time in many months that my husband wasn’t into the subject/design of the t-shirt. Eh, can’t win ’em all. I did think the die cast metal figure was cool. 🙂 — If you’d like to sign up for Loot Crate, you can save $3 on any subscription plan with coupon code “LOOTR3“!

Nepal Tea Kumari Gold

Nepal Tea LLC Kumari Gold

The featured tea this month was Kumari Gold from Nepal Tea LLC. Organically produced by Kanchanjangha Tea Estate, this special black tea is processed from young tea bushes which are grown and carefully nurtured in the foothills of Mt. Kanchanjangha. Its flavor is described as full bodied with notes of caramel and baked fruits. It also contains a high volume of essential oils, which will rise to the surface once your tea is brewed.

Chocolate Covered Oreo Cookies

Capital Candy Jar cookies

The Capital Candy Jar Chocolate Covered Oreo Cookies

How festive are these chocolate covered Oreos?! My fingers were crossed that at least one of them would be vegan-friendly (since Oreos on their own are), but no such luck. However, my kiddos were more than happy to gobble these little morsels up all by themselves.

Darjeeling tea strainer

G+H Tea Services Darjeeling Tea Strainer

This 2.5″ round stainless steel mesh strainer can perch upon just about any tea cup to easily strain your tea. The little teapot on the handle is a cute touch too. 🙂

Quin caramels

Handmade in small batches, Quin caramels are made with fresh cream, European butter, sea salt, and other natural ingredients. This particular flavor is in partnership with Steven Smith Teamaker is infused with their own bergamot tea.

Kloverbox review

Kloverbox coupon

As always, the info card listed all of the items in the box along with descriptions, retail values, and a few discount codes. March’s box was all about smelling and feeling your best!

Cuccio somatology spray

Cuccio Somatology Yoga Elixir Calming Spray ($8.95)

A calming room spray made with essential oils including lavender, orange, rosemary, and sage. You can use it to simply refresh the air or spray a small amount on a moist towel for a relaxing, spa-like experience. I just gave our living room a little spritz and it smells fantastic. 🙂

Love Myself Organics deodorant

Love Myself Organics Forever Lavender Natural Deodorant ($11.95)

This all natural, vegan deodorant is composed of organic/non-GMO ingredients including unrefined coconut oil, cocoa butter, arrowroot powder, baking soda, candelilla wax, and pure essential oils. It contains absolutely no aluminum or artificial colors/scents and is also gluten-free.

Harvey Prince Sincerely perfume

Harvey Prince “Sincerely” Tall Spray 8.8ml ($23)

I usually stick to natural (essential oil based) personal fragrances, but since this product is vegan, cruelty-free and safe enough for pregnant women, I suppose I can make an exception. Oh, and it also helps that it smells amazing. I’m horrible at describing scents, but it’s stated as having notes of Indonesian clove bud, Australian sandalwood, Moroccan rose, French bergamot, Indian tuberose, Japanese orange flower, and other exotic fragrances.

Vag magic

Vag Magic ($7.99)

Welp… Wasn’t expecting this one. Inside this packet are 7 all natural, cruelty-free suppositories that can be used to treat and relieve symptoms of vaginal yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis (BV). They’re also intended for the general maintenance of vaginal pH. To be honest, I’ve never really had any real problems down there, sooo… Yeah. Not my favorite inclusion.

While I wasn’t thrilled about the last product, I still enjoyed March’s Kloverbox. My favorite items were the room spray and (surprisingly) the fragrance spray. The total retail value of everything in this month’s box was just over $50! 🙂  — If you’d like to check out Kloverbox for yourself, you can save 10% off any length subscription when you use this link and enter coupon code “KLOVERBOX10” at checkout!

I didn’t quite enjoy March’s Fit Snack box as much as the previous few months, but mainly because of the lack of vegan-friendly items this time. Obviously, that’s most likely not the case for the majority of their subscribers. My favorite items were probably the superfood cereal and the rice snacks. — If you’d like to try Fit Snack out for yourself, they’ve kindly given me a special discount to share with my readers. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!

March 2017 Glossybox review time!

If you’re not aware, Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription box that sends 5-6 deluxe sized samples packed inside a super sturdy, reusable box. The packaging is top notch and only the highest quality brands are included. Like many of the other beauty subscriptions, you’ll fill out a personal beauty profile when you sign up so that they can send products that best suit your lifestyle, skin type, etc. They also have a great rewards system where you can earn points for reviewing the products you receive in your box. Once you’ve accumulated 1,000 points, you’ll earn a free month.

Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.

Subscriptions are $21/month and shipping is free. — For a limited time, you can save 40% off the March box with coupon code “MARCH40” — OR save 25% on any 3 or 6 month subscription with coupon code “WOMANCRUSH“!

Let’s see what’s in my March 2017 Glossybox!

Glossybox review

The signature pale pink box.

Glossybox review

Glossybox contents

A peek inside!

March 2017 Glossybox

Glossybox contents

The info sheet was more of a poster that unfolded to reveal the contents of March’s box — along with descriptions, retail prices, and tips for each item. It also included variant items that some subscribers received instead of the ones that were in my particular box. (Each month usually includes slight variations in products between boxes.)

Figs & Rouge mattifying emulsion

Figs & Rouge Avancé + Mattifying Emulsion MT+ Sheer ($15)

This primer/pore refiner can be used alone or as a base for makeup. Its formula is designed to minimize pores, combat breakouts, and reduce shine. To use, simply apply to your T-zone and blend to the outer edges of your face.

Catrice eyeshadow

Catrice palette

Catrice Cosmetics Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette 010 ($7)

I’ve been getting a ton of nude/neutral palettes in subscription boxes lately, and while I like the shades above just fine, the one on the very far right is what I’m most interested in trying out. I need some dang boldness for a change! 😉

Tarte sunscreen

Tarte Tarteguard 30 Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($32)

This non-chemical, vegan-friendly sunscreen helps to protect, moisturize, and re-invigorate your skin for a brighter, more youthful appearance. Key ingredients include red algae, maracuja, soybean oil, and apple extract. To use, apply to clean skin alone or under makeup as needed before sun exposure. It can also be layered with your regular moisturizer for extra hydration.

Mary Kay Timewise Repair Volu-firm set

Mary Kay Timewise repair

Mary Kay Timewise Repair Volu-Firm Set (~$45)

I was kind of surprised to see a Mary Kay product in Glossybox. This “deluxe mini set” contains 5 products designed to reduce the look of deep lines & wrinkles, even skin tone, restore moisture, and more. Included were: Lifting Serum, Foaming Cleanser, Eye Renewal Cream, Day Cream Sunscreen, and Night Treatment with Retinol. I’d try these out, but my face is super finicky about what I use on it, so I’d rather not introduce it to 5 new products at once. 😉

Emite Makeup Active eye light

Emite Make Up Millesis Active Eye Light Shade 101 ($25)

Millesis Active Eye Light is formulated to reduce the signs of aging and help minimize the appearance of dark circles. It both strengthens the skin and works as a color corrector to achieve a more youthful, healthy appearance. The formula is cruelty free and contains no animal ingredients. 🙂

Incoco nail polish applique

Incoco

Incoco Nail Polish Appliqués ($8)

Bonus Product! — These nail appliqués were included as a bonus item and their colorful abstract/floral design is perfect for Spring. They’re made with real nail polish and include a base, color, and top coat in every strip.

A nice, high value month from Glossybox! My favorite items were the eyeshadow palette, nail appliqués (though I’m not sure I can pull them off), and color corrector. As always, the total retail value was great at just over $130! 😀 — Remember, for a limited time you can save 40% off the March box with coupon code “MARCH40” — OR save 25% on any 3 or 6 month subscription with coupon code “WOMANCRUSH“!

March 2017 Terra Bella Box review time!

If you’re not aware, Terra Bella Box is a subscription box that focuses on all natural beauty and skin care. They have two different box options to choose from. Subscriptions are $32.95/month for the regular Terra Bella Box and $29.95/month for the Makeup Edit box. — Whether you choose the regular Terra Bella Box or the new Makeup Edit box, new subscribers can get a FREE bonus item in their first box with coupon code “2LREXTRA“.

Okay, now let’s see what’s in the March 2017 (regular) Terra Bella Box!

Terra Bella Box review

Terra Bella Box review

As always, the box featured a green leaf design on the outside and dark green tissue paper surrounding the items inside.

March 2017 Terra Bella Box

The info card listed every product in the March 2017 box, along with descriptions and retail prices for each one.

Cultivar moisturizer

Cultivar Organic Deeply Nourishing Daily Moisturizer ($48)

An organic, 100% vegan daily moisturizer designed to deeply hydrate while also balancing the tone and texture of your skin. It’s made with natural ingredients including organic abyssinian, argan, meadowfoam, chia & prickly pear oils, as well as essential oils of Indian sandalwood, palmarosa, rosemary, cocoa absolute & carrot seed.

Wellsmith bath bomb

Wellsmith Lavender Vanilla Bath Bomb ($6)

Subscribers received 3 of 5 different Wellsmith products this month. — Of course I was excited that I scored one of the bath bombs! 🙂 This thing is HUGE and is scented with calming lavender & vanilla.

Wellsmith bath tea

Wellsmith bath tea

Wellsmith Herbal Bath Tea ($8)

Another bath product! There were various versions subscribers could have received — Relax, Detox, Sitz, or Basic. I was happy to get “Relax”, since I could really use some serious relaxation right about now. The blend consists of epsom salt, chamomile, roses, lemongrass, passionflower, and orange peel. It smells amazing and I can definitely pick up the lemongrass scent. Love it!

Wellsmith shea butter

Wellsmith Shea butter

Wellsmith Scented Shea Butter ($8)

Both scented and unscented versions of this shea butter was sent out. As a big fan of well, scents, I was kinda bummed to get the unscented one. Ah well. This is made with just one single ingredient: Shea butter. That’s it!

I was a little surprised to see 3 items from the same brand in this month’s Terra Bella Box, but I love bath products, so I didn’t mind. My favorite item was definitely the huge bath bomb, though I’m really looking forward to using the lemongrass-heavy bath tea as well. 🙂 The total retail value for March’s box was an impressive $70! — Remember, if you’d like to sign up for Terra Bella Box, new subscribers can get FREE bonus item in their first box with coupon code “2LREXTRA“!
