Ok, so it’s Halloween and we have yet to carve our pumpkins. And honestly, I have absolutely no desire to do so. I mean, being the pumpkin carving perfectionist that I am, it takes me long enough just to carve ONE pumpkin… And this year I’d have to do two more. Soooo… I think I’ll pass.
As ridiculous as it may be, I actually feel pretty guilty for denying the pumpkins their rightful jack-o-lantern status. What will I do with them now? Just let them sit, nakedly uncarved in the kitchen, waiting for them to rot? 🙁
I just don’t have the motivation to think up funny/interesting designs, use that little carving saw, dig out all those slimy guts, scrape scrape scrape… with the girls most likely crying all the while. NO. THANKS.
Oh — We’ve also decided to be Halloween scrooges this year and forgo handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters. Yep, the porch lights are staying OFF. As with the pumpkins, we had originally planned to partake in the aforementioned activity — we even bought some Skittles to hand out — but reconsidered when we realized we’d be dealing with startled/pissed off babies all night every time the doorbell rang. Again, NO. THANKS.
And with that, I shall wish you all a Happy Halloween! haha
Ah well, we DID dress the girls up a little… in hats & almost-matching onesies. Hey, whatever, they look festive. 😉
