Once again, the forecast on Halloween night called for rain showers and high temps in the 40’s. (Every. Freakin’. Year.) Thankfully, we had a back-up plan: Mall-o-Ween!
Yay! It’s finally October, which means it’s also… PUMPKIN TIME!! Last weekend (technically still September, but what-evs) we took the girls and drove down to The Great Pumpkin Farm. It was nearly 80 degrees, cloudless, and FAR from the ideal crisp autumn day that I had hoped for. (I even managed to get a flippin’ sunburn. Ugh.) Non-traditional weather aside, we had a pretty good day — or as close to a good day as you can get with 2 hyperactive, meltdown-prone two-year old twins. Hayrides were ridden, fried dough was eaten, ducks were quacked at, and one out of two […]
This year I’m thankful for… DEALS! 😉 I just got a set of 20 cards (shown above) from Walgreens for a grand total of…wait for it… $0. Yep, 20 personalized photo cards for FREE. Yay for coupon codes! Of course I’m also thankful for the girls, my family, sub boxes, vegan cookies, k-cups, awful reality shows, and all that other good stuff. That kinda goes without saying. 😉 Disclosure: This post contains NO affiliate links! Woah! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Earlier this month we took the girls out to lunch and decided to stop at a local park to check out the autumn-y goodness. It was an unseasonably warm day and the park was full of walkers, soaking it all in. (Who else can’t read the word “walkers” without totally picturing zombies? Thanks for that, The Walking Dead.) The leaves hadn’t quite reached their “peak colors”, and there still weren’t too many on the ground, but we made due. It was the girls’ first time experiencing the wondrous, sensory joy of crunching up fallen leaves in their itty bitty hands. Ev […]
Every year, since Mike and I have met, we’ve gone to the The Great Pumpkin Farm. It is thee ultimate “autumn fun times” destination in Western New York. Pumpkins, tractor rides, cider, face painting, corn mazes, carnival food — this place has it all. Last year, the girls were only 2 months old when the festivities went down, so Mike & I took the trip sans kiddos. I felt guilty not taking them, but they were way too small to truly appreciate the autumn-y awesomeness. This year they were thirteen months old. Surely they were old enough to enjoy a fun day […]
Autumn is in full swing & I couldn’t be happier! I’m sitting on my comfy couch, sipping pumpkin spice coffee, half-listening to Anderson Cooper as he kindly provides background noise. The girls are asleep (well, one is) and the space heater is kickin’ out the warmz. Cardigans are an everyday staple now and slippers never leave my feet. The house is adorned with candy corn lights, vintage-inspired Halloween decorations, and orange candles. Patient pumpkins sit on a kitchen chair, waiting to be carved. Needless to say, October is one of my favorite months of the year and I plan to savor […]
Ok, here’s the dealio — I feel like blogging, but I don’t really feel like thinking, know what I mean? The compromise? A nice little bullet-ed list of random thoughts/events/etc… Brilliant! Here goes… Tomorrow I would have been 38 weeks pregnant. It also would have been the date of my scheduled c-section. Crazy. I truly cannot imagine still being pregnant at this point. Sooo happy that they’re already here! Mike and I FINALLY got out of the house together on Friday evening. It was the first time I’d been “out” since being put on bed rest at 28 weeks (mid-June!). We went […]
