Yay! Citrus Lane day! This is one of my favorite subs and I always get (a little too) excited when I see it on my doorstep.
If you don’t already know, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids (aged newborn-5). It’s $29/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom. (They did this time. Yay!)
February’s box was loosely themed with “items that we hope will brighten up the dismal weather”… Which is awfully close to last month’s “items that will remind you that spring is right around the corner”. Eh, whatever. I’m sure it’s not easy to think of unique themes every month. This box was tailored to a 19-month old girl.
Let’s see what’s inside!
First look: The familiar yellow tissue paper sealed with a Citrus Lane sticker.
Oogaa Silicone Bowl – I’m building quite the Oogaa collection thanks to sub boxes. Totally not complaining though. This bowl (as with all other Oogaa products) is made of food safe, high-grade silicone. It’s BPA/PVC-free and won’t leach chemicals into the food (always a plus!). Best of all, it’s microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. Oh, and slip-resistant too! (Retail Price: $8.99)
Starlight Sailor from Barefoot Books – This is one BIG board book (8.5 x 8.7 x 0.7 inches, to be exact). I was impressed that they included a book so large/heavy. It’s from Barefoot Books, which Citrus Lane has partnered with in the past and seem to be a fan favorite. The story is about a little boy and his dog who venture into the world of dreams and discover magical, mystical creatures along the way. Honestly, I’d rather have gotten something a little more… cutesy(?), but for all I know the girls may end up loving this kinda thing. (Amazon Price: $13.28)
Boon “Dive” Bath Appliques – These are fun ocean-themed shapes that not only float in the tub, but can also stick to the sides of it. We have an old clawfoot tub, so I’m not quite sure if they’ll really stick to the thing (anyone know?), but I’m guessing they’ll most definitely still float in it. 😉 They’re BPA/PVC-free and won’t absorb water, thus reducing the risk for mold. (Amazon Price: $6.55)
Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Hand Cream – A mom gift! This is a nice sized (2 ounce) hand cream designed to reduce lines and wrinkles. It’s made with certified organic ingredients and natural essential oils. Yay for mom gifts. (Amazon Price: $14.80)
I was pretty happy with the items I received this month. I think if the book was “cuter”, I would have been more excited about it. The bowl is a great addition to our Oogaa collection, the bath toys will get used, and mom gifts are always a nice bonus.
When totaled, all of the items in my box come to $43.62, so it’s definitely one of the higher value boxes I’ve gotten lately.
If you’d like to sign up for Citrus Lane, you can get your first box for 50% off just by clicking here (no code needed!). It’s definitely a great deal and you can cancel at any time! 🙂

I just got my first Citrus Lane box and I wasn’t impressed. I received a book about seasons, a ladybug storage cube, and a small plastic shoe to teach tying. I also got the hand cream. My granddaughter is only 3 , so not ready for shoe tying yet.

Way to be a Debbie Downer, Betty! haha I saw pics of that box and it looked good to me. Those storage things go for $15 on amazon. The book looked cute too — kinda wish I got that one instead of the mystical one I got. I’m always happy if I get things that are “too old” for the girls, cos I can just put them away for later. Better than getting stuff that’s too young for them that we’ll never use, ya know? 🙂

I am using the cube at my house, it is cute. I am taking the book to use in my prek class, and I will put the shoe away to use when she’s old enough. Didn’t mean to sound negative.

It’s okay Betty. Sub boxes aren’t for everyone. 😉
