Monthly Love is a new “time of the month” subscription box that sends you snacks, pampering products, and a little gift along with your choice of feminine products.
A portion of every month’s profit is donated to a cause or charity that’s often associated with the particular month. — For instance, May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, so they’ve decided to donate to the Skin Cancer Foundation. Cool!
Boxes are $30/month and shipping is always free.
I was recently sent the May box for review, so let’s check it out, shall we?
The box was shipped in a plain priority, uh, box. This was what I saw upon opening it.
Second look — stuff! Lots of it!
The info sheet listed everything I would find inside, as well as the charity/cause being highlighted for May.
Max Block Sunscreen SPF 30 – Sunscreen for Skin Cancer Awareness Month? Well that’s a no-brainer! This isn’t exactly a brand name (I’m pretty sure it’s sold at the Dollar Store), but in a pinch, cheap protection is better than no protection. 😉
They also included an informational booklet on Melanoma. Every time I read about skin cancer and moles I immediately start to freak out about any spots I find on my body. I guess that’s a good thing though… A reminder to be aware of what to look for.
Always Infinity Regular Pads – There are plenty of different pad/tampon brands to pick from. You can choose as many tampons/liners/pads as you want, up to 25 total items. I chose 22 regular pads and 3 liners.
Summer’s Eve Cleansing Cloths – Two of these single-use packets were included.
Tylenol Extra – Two doses of Tylenol were included as well. Cramps be damned!
“In Blue” Perfume – This has no actual brand name on it, so I’m guessing it’s a pretty generic perfume. I don’t normally wear scents, so I’ll pass this along to someone who does.
P & E Nail Lacquer – I’ve never heard of this brand, but it’s a pretty color. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but it’s a dark reddish-purple shade with fine glitter.
Chunky Beaded Bracelet with Charms – This is May’s “gift”. A summery aqua and silver stretch bracelet with four charms. It’s not really my style, but my mom loves fun costume-y jewelry like this, so I’ll be passing it along to her.
Snacks! – There were quite a few snacks included. From left: Famous Amos Cookies, Cheez-It, Nature Valley Granola Thins, Rice Krispies Treat, Special K Pastry Crisps, Fruit Roll-Up, Wyler’s Drink Mix (2), and Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks. Something for everyone!
Luxe Lollies from B.O.S.S. Girls Inc. – Two of these gourmet lollipops were included. One in “Earl Grey” and the other in “Coconut Lemongrass Rum”. I’m not too sure about the Earl Grey, but the second one sounds interesting…
So that’s my May Monthly Love box!
On one hand, I love that there was so much stuff packed into the box, but on the other hand, I almost wish there was less. Only because it seems like a few of the items were kinda low quality/dollar store-ish things. Now, I LOVE the dollar store, but when it comes to sub boxes (especially pampering ones), I think we sorta expect more brand name/higher quality items.
That said, this was still a fun box. If you’d like to check it out for yourself, just click here for a trial box or to sign up for a monthly subscription. ** For a limited time, all new 3 month subscriptions will receive a $5 VISA gift card, 6 month subscriptions will receive a $10 VISA gift card, and 12 month subscriptions will receive a $20 VISA gift card!
