Conscious Box is a monthly subscription box that features eco-friendly/natural products. Items range from healthy snacks, to natural toothpaste, and everything in between. There are 3 different boxes to choose from: The Vegan Box (which I normally get), The Gluten-Free Box, and the Classic Box.
Boxes were always $19.95/month, but they’ve recently announced 2 new box options: The Plus (as low as $16.95/mo) and the Taster (as low as $6.95/mo). If you’re a current subscriber, you’ll automatically start receiving the “Plus” box this month! It’s supposed to have less samples and more FULL SIZED products, so I was excited to check it out.
Alright, let’s see what’s inside this “new & improved” Conscious Box…
First look. The info cards are full color now and a lot “cleaner” looking.
Second look. I noticed a few “repeats”, but also some new, larger sized items. (I’m hoping they’re just clearing house of all the “old” stuff and they *hopefully* won’t pop up again.)
Mrs. May’s Tropical Trio Bar – This was really good! It was full of healthy nuts, seeds & fruits and made for a great afternoon snack. It was super crunchy (and a little crumbly/messy) and had a nutty, slightly sweet flavor. It’s vegan, gluten-free, and totally natural. Yum!
CaCoCo Superfood Drinking Chocolate – I haven’t tried this yet, but it sounds awesome. It’s a drinking chocolate made with raw/vegan, gluten-free ingredients including cacao butter, carob, and cacao beans. You can enjoy it warm, cold, in smoothies, or even just sprinkled on desserts. Mmm!
Weleda Replenishing Shampoo & Conditioner – Not a huge fan of foil packet samples, but I spose I’ll use these. Certified natural, oat-based shampoo & conditioner that helps smooth the hair and reduce breakage & split ends.
Organic GoGo Squeez – I love these! Well, my girls love ’em! 100% all natural fruit puree made with just organic apples & organic apple juice concentrate.
Vita Coco Pure Coconut Water – Full size single-serve coconut water containing 100% juice, not from concentrate. High in potassium and fat free. I’m going to wait for a super hot day to try this out.
Crystal Body Deodorant Towelette – I’ve gotten this in a zillion different sub boxes. It’s an all-natural body odor preventing wipe that’s supposed to work all day. I haven’t tried any of them yet, but considering how many I have piled up, I probably should get on that.
Flents Wipe ‘n Clear Biodegradable Lens Wipe – I was actually happy to see this. My glasses are constantly dirty and I hate using the chemical-smelling spray my husband uses for his. This is convenient and it’s nice that it’s also biodegradable.
Via Nature Sensitive Care Skin Lotion – I’ve gotten this sample quite a few times now. Possibly different formulas/scents, but the same company. This one is actually fragrance-free, which is great for those with extra sensitive skin, but kinda boring for me. Scents are fun! 😉
Ecover Automatic Dishwasher Tablets – These are phosphate & chlorine free, natural dishwashing tablets. Some people might think this sorta thing is lame to get in a subscription box, but I’m a fan. I know it’s something that’ll get used and not just added to another one of my stockpiles of “stuff”.
San Francisco Bay French Roast Gourmet Coffee – Woo! Coffee! I could smell this as soon as I opened the box. These little pods are compatible with Keurig k-cup machines, but unlike the other k-cups, these are 97% biodegradable. Cool! I was surprised at how cheap they sell for on Amazon — like $16 for 36 cups! Not bad for eco-friendly, fair trade coffee!
Pura Vida Organic Sprouted Ground Flax – This is packed with vitamins, minerals, omega 3’s, and a ton of other good stuff. You can sprinkle it into a smoothie, on top of granola, or use it in baked goods for a nutritional boost.
Spatone Purabsorb Iron – I have a bunch of these from other sub boxes that I’ve been too afraid to try. I think I’d prefer pill-form. Liquid iron just can’t taste good. Blech.
MRM Vegan Bone Maximizer Supplement – Meh. You all know how I feel about supplements. Especially samples of supplements. Zzzzzz…
Traditional Medicinals Organic Chamomile Tea – What’s a subscription box without tea? 😉
I didn’t add up all the prices for each item, but I definitely feel like this was a much better value than some of the Conscious Boxes I’ve gotten in the past. There were a total of 15 items, a few of which were full (single-serving) sized. The box itself was bigger and they no longer do that silly “box within a box” thing.
Wanna try Conscious Box out for yourself? You’re in luck, cos right now you can get your first Taster box for FREE (just pay $4.95 shipping) when you click here and use the code “FBFREETASTER“! Awesome!
