I recently reviewed February’s American Gluten-Free “Foodie” box (seen here), so now it’s time to check out their “Discovery” snack box!
If you haven’t heard, American Gluten-Free is a subscription box service dedicated to meeting the needs of those living a gluten free lifestyle while promising some fun along the way. There are two different box options to choose from: The Foodie Box & the Discovery Box. The Foodie Box has 7-9 mostly full sized meal based selections for creating delicious meals and comes complete with recipes and often culinary gadgets. The Discovery Box is based on snacks & convenience and includes 7-9 full and sample size products for at home and on-the-go enjoyment. No matter which option you choose, you can be assured that everything inside is both gluten & dairy free. (Many are vegan as well!) All products are made in dedicated gluten and wheat free facilities or/on dedicated gluten free lines.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $36.95 for the Foodie Box, or $24.95 for the Discovery Box. Discounts are available on 3 or 6 month plans.
Let’s see what’s in the February 2017 American Gluten-Free “Discovery” box!
The box!
A peek inside!
I’m not sure if there was supposed to be an info card/booklet included (the “Foodie” box had one), but I didn’t receive one.
Andean Dream Chocolate Chip Quinoa Cookies
Vegan cookies!! I was immediately excited about these and they did not disappoint. While you can definitely tell they’re a healthier cookie, they were nonetheless crunchy and full of chocolatey goodness. I was surprised to find that each cookie in the box was individually wrapped, making them great to take on the go — and a LOT less likely to go stale after opening the box. 🙂
Inka Corn Original Roasted Giant Corn Snack
These roasted kernels are made from corn grown exclusively in “The Sacred Valley of the Incas” near Cusco and Machu Picchu. The corn is an heirloom variety which was the same type enjoyed centuries ago by the Inca civilization. The kernels are HUGE and have a nice, satisfying crunch.
Cherry Bay Orchards Dried Montmorency Cherries
A larger bag of these cherries were included in the “Foodie” box and my girls and I are still enjoying them (this smaller bag is long gone!). The all natural, preservative-free dried cherries are great for baking into your favorite recipes, or simply enjoyed on their own.
Lola Granola Bar with Almonds and Cranberries
A certified gluten-free granola bar made with all natural, non-GMO ingredients including almonds, dried cranberries, flax seeds, oats, honey, and more. Yum!
Deep River Snacks Original Salted Kettle Cooked Potato Chips
Small batch cooked kettle chips made with non-GMO, gluten-free ingredients. They’re produced in a nut-free facility and contain no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.
Peeled Snacks Peas Please Garden Herb Snacks
This baked organic all natural pea snack is made with non-GMO, gluten-free ingredients including whole green pea flour, brown rice flour, and a variety of herbs & spices.
Bumble Bar Chocolate Crisp Organic Energy Bar
A gluten-free energy bar made with pure ingredients like sesame seeds, flax seeds, peanuts, cocoa powder, and more. It’s also a good source of fiber and contains 5 grams of protein per serving.
Equal Exchange Very Dark Dark Chocolate Bar
Vegan chocolate! 😀 This bar is made with 71% cacao that’s fairly traded and USDA organic. I’m always happy to get more vegan-friendly chocolates. 🙂
The February 2017 American Gluten-Free “Discovery” snack box was just as impressive as this month’s “Foodie” box. It was loaded with tasty snacks & treats that were almost all vegan-friendly — and of course gluten-free. A great box for anyone with food allergies or following a gluten-free diet. 🙂
