Amoda Tea is a premium tea subscription box that sends hand picked tea samples to your door every month.
Each box will include 4 high quality teas (enough for 12+ cups), disposable/biodegradable tea filters, tasting notes, steeping instructions, and a collectible tea postcard. Amoda Tea focuses on finding and featuring fun brands & small-batch tea blenders from all over North America. Two box options are currently available: The Original Monthly Box and The Low Caff (for the caffeine sensitive).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $20/month and shipping is free.
Let’s see what’s in the February 2022 Amoda Tea box!
Everything was shipped in a small brown box with a white Amoda Tea logo in the top left corner.
A peek inside!
An info card listed all of the teas included in February’s box, as well as tasting notes for each one.
All of the teas were individually packaged in resealable pouches with labels noting their tasting notes, caffeine content, brewing instructions, and full ingredient list.
Plan de Vida “Hot Toddy”
Perfect for a cold winter day, Plan de Vida’s “Hot Toddy” contains a blend of Lapsang Souchong (smoked black tea leaves), ginger, cinnamon, and dried orange peel pieces. It’s said to have notes of smoke, cinnamon, and citrus — and can be enjoyed “as is” or kicked up a notch with a bit of whiskey or rum. 🙂
Venya Teas “Kashmiri Kahwa”
This spiced green tea features a blend of green tea leaves, rose petals, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and saffron. The combination of these ingredients result in an infusion that has helpful digestive properties and provides an antioxidant boost, relief from stress, and even a more glowing complexion.
Naked Teas Galore “Chocolate Caramel”
Dessert teas are always nice to have around when you crave something sweet, but don’t want to over-indulge. “Chocolate Caramel” is made with a flavorful blend of premium Ceylon black tea, cocoa nibs, calendula, and natural flavoring. It has a high caffeine content, so probably not the best to enjoy after dinner. Maybe post-lunch instead. 😉
Justea “Mt. Kenya Black”
Another high-caffeine offering, this tea is comprised of a single ingredient: 100% natural Rainforest Alliance Kenyan black tea. Tasting notes are described as “strong & malty, cocoa bean & dried fruit” and each cup has a whopping 50 mg of caffeine. — Definitely an early morning brew!
Biodegradable Tea Filters
A roll of disposable/100% biodegradable tea filters are also included in every box. I didn’t count them, but it looks to be plenty to use with the included teas. Additional filters can also be purchased as an “add-on”.
Postcard
Like last month, February’s postcard featured a recipe instead of a seasonal photograph. — This time it was for “Tea Pancakes” that suggested utilizing a chocolate or cinnamon flavored tea.
February’s Amoda Tea shipment included a nice assortment of black and green blends. My personal favorites were Plan de Vida’s “Hot Toddy” and Naked Teas Galore’s “Chocolate Caramel”. Yum! 🙂
