Let’s see what’s in the May 2023 Amoda Tea box!
Everything was shipped in a small brown box with a white Amoda Tea logo in the center.
A peek inside!
A 2-sided info card included a full color tea-related photo on one side, with a message about this month’s tea selections on the other. The QR code printed at the bottom gives you access to additional info on the teas as well as recipes and tips.
All of the teas were individually packaged in resealable pouches with labels noting their tasting notes, caffeine content, brewing instructions, and full ingredient list.
Ranger Tea “Fresh Tracks Breakfast”
I’m slowly warming up to “straight”/plain black teas (with no added herbs/fruits/etc) and really enjoyed this full-bodied selection from Ranger Tea. It features a blend of two different (organic!) teas — Sri Lanka black and Assam black. Its high caffeine content made for a great early morning coffee alternative and it was flavorful without needing to add anything extra.
Lake Missoula Tea Company “Silurian Sage”
A new partner with Amoda, Lake Missoula Tea Company (based in Missoula, Montana) was founded in 2012 and offers a wide variety of small-batch loose leaf teas online and in their custom built tea bar. “Silurian Sage” is named after the prehistoric epoch that exploded with life and geographic expansions. It features a cool, yet savory blend of black tea, sage, elderberry, spearmint, safflower, and natural flavoring.
Lake Missoula Tea Company “Gin & Cream”
Another offering from Lake Missoula Tea Company, “Gin & Cream” is a caffeine-free tea that combines floral notes with a creamy vanilla finish. The fragrant blend consists of South African rooibos, juniper berries, lavender, marigold flowers, cardamom, and natural flavors. It can be enjoyed hot or over ice on a hot summer day.
Verdic Teas “Japanese Lime”
I love green teas and this one sounds delightful. “Japanese Lime” from Verdic Teas features a grassy green tea profile combined with a subtle citrus flavor for a slightly sour, yet refreshing blend. It consists of green tea, lemon peels, sunflowers, Roman chamomile, and natural flavoring. Its low caffeine content makes it a great option for enjoying at the end of a long day.
Biodegradable Tea Filters
A roll of disposable/100% biodegradable tea filters are also included in every box. I didn’t count them, but it looks to be plenty to use with the included teas. Additional filters can also be purchased as an “add-on”.
My May 2023 Amoda Tea shipment included a nice sampling of herbal, black, and green tea blends. I’ve already enjoyed “Fresh Tracks Breakfast” and am really looking forward to sipping “Japanese Lime” and “Gin & Cream”. 🙂
