Amoda Tea is a premium tea subscription box that sends hand picked tea samples to your door every month.
Each box will include 4 high quality teas (enough for 12+ cups) and disposable/biodegradable tea filters, along with printed tasting notes and steeping instructions for each selection. Amoda Tea focuses on finding and featuring fun brands & small-batch tea blenders from all over North America. Two box options are currently available: The Original Monthly Box and The Low Caff (for the caffeine sensitive).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $20/month and shipping is free.
Let’s see what’s in the October 2023 Amoda Tea box!
Everything was shipped in a small brown box with a white Amoda Tea logo in the center.
A peek inside!
A 2-sided info card included a full color tea-themed photo on one side, with a message about this month’s tea selections on the other.
All of the teas were individually packaged in resealable pouches with labels noting their tasting notes, caffeine content, brewing instructions, and full ingredient list.
Nepal Tea Collective “Nepali Breakfast”
Nepal Tea Collective is a new Amoda partner who sources all of their teas and ingredients straight from Nepal — helping to keep local farmers out of poverty. “Nepali Breakfast” is similar to chai and features a warming blend of Kanchanjangha Noir black tea, ginger, black cardamom, cinnamon leaf, and black pepper. It’s a high-caffeine tea, ideal for enjoying with breakfast.
BrutaliTeas “Pearanoid”
This incredibly flavorful tea is so jam-packed with, well, flavor that it can be steeped multiple times! It’s a low-caffeine offering that features a fruity/floral combination of green tea, green rooibos, jasmine petals, marigold flowers, natural pear flavor, and freeze dried pears. Yum!
Amoda Tea “Genmaicha”
Okay, so maybe this isn’t the most visually appealing tea… but don’t let that stop you from experiencing its unique flavor. In fact, those little nubs in the photo above are just puffed/roasted brown rice. Nothing to be afraid of! 😉 The rice actually goes surprisingly well with green tea, giving it slightly nutty flavor.
BrutaliTeas “Stone Sour Apple”
The tasting notes printed on the label claim that this fruity tea tastes similar to a green sour apple Jolly Rancher. Needless to say, I’ll be trying this one first! It contains a sweet/fragrant blend of Pi Lo Chun green tea, apple pieces, rosehips, hibiscus, and natural apple flavor. As with the other offering from BrutaliTeas (Pearinoid), this one can also be enjoyed through multiple infusions.
Biodegradable Tea Filters
A roll of disposable/100% biodegradable tea filters are also included in every box. I didn’t count them, but it looks to be plenty to use with the included teas. Additional filters can also be purchased as an “add-on”.
My October 2023 Amoda Tea shipment included a great sampling of black, green, and herbal tea blends. I’m most looking forward to trying “Stone Sour Apple”, “Pearanoid”, and “Nepali Breakfast”!
