Let’s see what’s in my August 2017 Apollo Surprise Box!
Everything was shipped in a plain brown box with a small Apollo sticker on the side.
A peek in the box!
An enclosed info sheet listed all of the items inside, along with photos and retail values for each one.
There were also two separate glossy cards with additional details on each product.
Leaf on Glass Framed Wall Art ($29.99)
This simple, minimalist piece features a green watercolor leaf print on glass (it looks a lot greener in person). The neutral frame is made of natural pine wood and comes complete with a hook already attached for immediate display. It measures 9.1″ x 11″ and looks great placed against a white background. I’m not entirely sure where this would fit into my current decor, but I like it!
Ceramic Coffee Mug & Spoon Set ($19.99)
A quirky ceramic mug featuring a brown bear dressed up as a duck(?) with the word “Hi” floating above him. The mug holds 16.6 ounces and comes complete with a stainless steel “paw” spoon and ceramic lid to keep your beverage toasty warm. Cute!
Also included inside of the mug box were a silicone Doraemon coaster and a sponge brush. I had no idea why, but when I looked at the mug’s info card again there is a little image of character coasters shown next to said brush. Special bonus items?
Magic Birthday Card ($1.99)
Every Apollo Box comes with a free interactive augmented reality greeting card. To use it, just download the Apollo app, launch the scanner, then point your phone at the card to reveal the “magic”. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but it was actually pretty neat!
When you point the camera at the card it, a 3D image of a birthday cake pops up — complete with flickering candles, fireworks, and music. SO neat!
I really enjoyed my first Apollo Surprise Box experience. They definitely included some unique, quirky items and the bonus interactive greeting card was too cool! The total retail value of all the products was just over $50 — $20 more than the monthly subscription cost. Not bad! 🙂
