All of the items are handmade in small batches by Athena, Antoinette’s Bathhouse’s owner and lead soap artist.
Disclosure: Box was received for review purposes.
Subscriptions are $35/month or less with multi-month commitments.
Let’s see what’s in the May 2019 Athena’s Bath Club box!
Everything was shipped in a small brown box.
A peek inside!
There wasn’t an info card or any other literature included, but most of these products (or variations of them) can be found on their website.
Frosted Sugar Scrub in “Tropical Booty Call” ($13 value)
How colorful is this sugar scrub?! — It looks like a frosty summer treat. 😉 Made in small batches by whipping moisturizing ingredients with pure sugar, this fluffy body scrub will leave your skin feeling extra smooth as it gently exfoliates and removes dirt & dead skin cells. The scent features fruity notes of piña colada, pineapple, strawberry, coconut, and kiwi. I’m not sure what the fruit-shaped decorations on top are made of, but they’re certainly add to the tropical vibes!
Bar Soap in “Single & Ready to Flamingle” ($7 value)
Although I’m generally not a fan of glitter, I cannot deny the majestical beauty of this bar soap. So pretty! I do wish they had included an ingredients list, or at least disclosed that information on their website. The closest I could find was that their soaps are made with “high quality oils, butters, herbs, spices, and sometimes even sprinkles”. This particular bar features a fragrance blend of Bulgarian rose, jasmine, pear, citrus, musk, candied violet, and plum.
Luxury Hand Lotion in “Sun Kissed” ($6 value)
I was happy to see an ingredients list on this product, though I wasn’t too stoked to see that said list included parabens. 🙁 It also includes lanolin (from sheep), so it wouldn’t be vegan-friendly anyway. The orange blossom scent is surprisingly light & subtle. I’ll definitely be passing this along to someone who isn’t as picky about ingredients as I am. 😉
Bath Bomb in “Banana Daiquiri” ($2.50 value)
This cute little bath bomb is topped with a tiny yellow banana (Runts candy?)! It has a sweet, summer-inspired scent of ripe banana and refreshing piña colada. My 6-year-olds are all about bath bombs lately, so I’m sure they’ll LOVE this adorable one!
Bath Bomb in “Ocean Water” ($2.50 value)
Don’t you love it when your nail polish matches your bath bomb? 😉 This lil’ guy is scented with notes of sea salt, driftwood, and ocean spray to make you feel like you’re chillin’ on the beach. It’s even topped with its own tiny seashell!
The May 2019 Athena’s Bath Club box had lots of tropical, summery vibes goin’ on. Everything was bright, colorful, and nicely scented. My only issue was the inclusion of a few questionable ingredients (namely, parabens), since I have super sensitive skin and try to use all natural skincare products whenever possible. Oh, and I could have done without the glitter. #glitterphobe 😉
