BE KIND. by ellen is a purpose-driven seasonal subscription box founded and curated by Ellen Degeneres.
Each box will include a collection of products (chosen by Ellen!) that are cruelty free, sustainably sourced, and ethically made. These “products with a purpose” come from brands who do good and give back to their community, so you can feel good about supporting them. Past items have included books, apparel, teas, skin care products, jewelry, snacks, eco-friendly cleaning products, home decor, socks, coffee, lip balms, and more.

Boxes are only available during the season in which they are released, so there will be a limited number of boxes available each quarter. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!
Subscriptions are $54.99/quarter, or less with annual plans. Shipping is free. — For a limited time, when you buy one box, you’ll get a second box for FREE! (No coupon needed. Good through 12/15/22.)
Let’s see what’s in the Winter 2022 BE KIND. by ellen box!
Everything was shipped in a pretty box featuring a sweet winter-inspired design.
A peek inside!
A full-color magazine provided details on all of the items included in this quarter’s box, as well as additional offers from Ellen’s online shop.
LAUDE the Label Carob Bubble Gauze Scarf ($120 value)
LAUDE the Label is a Certified B Corporation who focuses on sustainability and providing environmentally conscious products. The carob-colored scarf above was crafted by a team of female artisans in India who utilize ethical production processes that reduce water, energy, and fabric consumption. The scarf is made of 100% cotton and dyed without the use of harmful chemicals. Thanks to its lightweight material, it’s suitable to wear from the winter right into springtime.
Beachwaver Be Confident Co-Wash ($20 value)
Beachwaver’s “Be Confident” Co-Wash — or “conditioner-only washing” — contains a gentle cleanser that’s formulated to add the ultimate moisturizing and strengthening benefits without stripping or dying out your hair. It’s infused with shea butter, coconut oil, and abyssinian oil to help build your hair from the inside out and make hair cleansed & conditioned. The co-wash is suitable for all hair types, but best for dry, wavy, curly and coily hair textures that produce more oils and/or appear dry.
BE KIND by Ellen Holiday Cookie Cutter Set, Recipe Card & Bag ($25 value)
Okay, I’m not gonna lie… I definitely side-eyed the $25 value listed on this set of 3 basic cookie cutters. While I enjoy a fun holiday-themed inclusion, I think it’s fair to assume that the price point should be around $10 tops. C’mon, Ellen! — With that out of the way… 😉 This is a cute little set that includes 3 metal cookie cutters in the shape of a pine tree, gingerbread man, and star — all tucked into a canvas drawstring bag. There’s also a printed sugar cookie recipe from Ellen herself!
Bombas Merino Wool Calf Socks ($20 value)
Socks are the #1 most requested clothing item in homeless shelters — so for every pair of socks they sell, Bombas donates another to a person in need. 😀 These cozy calf-length socks are made with merino wool, giving them extra moisture-wicking power to keep your feet both warm and dry. They also contain polyester and spandex to provide just the right amount of stretch, tension, and arch support. While I personally don’t wear wool (long-time vegan here), my husband will happily add this pair to his cozy winter sock rotation.
Ethel M Chocolates Ghana Single Origin Dark Chocolate Bar ($8 value)
Ethel M’s single origin chocolate bars are all made with just 4 simple ingredients: Chocolate, sugar, cocoa butter, and milkfat. The bar above contains chocolate sourced from cacao trees grown in the rich red soil of Ghana, giving it sweet, creamy, and earthy notes. Ethel M is dedicated to minimizing its environmental impact and powers their factory with solar power during the daytime — so most of their chocolate is made with sunshine. 🙂
Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Gorilla Adoption ($75-100 value)
The final item in this quarter’s box was… a gorilla!! Sort of. 😉 Ellen partnered with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to gift each subscriber a year-long “adoption” of a protected gorilla who lives in the wild. The adoption includes the certificate above, a photo of your gorilla, and updates throughout the year with photos, stories, and more. Most importantly, it means a contribution has been made on your part to help continue the work of saving these majestic animals. Very cool!
The Winter 2022 BE KIND. by ellen box included a nice collection of useful products designed by socially conscious brands. My personal favorites were the LAUDE the Label Bubble Gauze Scarf, Holiday Cookie Cutter Set, Bombas Merino Wool Socks (for my husband), and Ethel M Single Origin Chocolate Bar. The total retail value of everything in the Winter 2022 BE KIND. by ellen box was well over $260! 😀 — Remember, for a limited time when you buy one box, you’ll get a second box for FREE! (No coupon needed. Good through 12/15/22.)
