Benevolent Beauty Box is a new subscription box that sends you a collection of 100% cruelty free beauty products every month.
Each box will feature 4 to 7 full sized beauty products that are all cruelty-free. Items will be focused primarily on cosmetics, but can also include skin care, hair care, beauty tools, and more. Some of the products (but usually not all) will be vegan-friendly as well. To raise awareness for the fight against animal testing, $1 from each box sold will be donated to Humane Society International.
Subscriptions are $29.95/month. For a limited time, you can save 10% on your first box with coupon code “WELCOME“!
Let’s see what’s in the April 2016 Benevolent Beauty Box!
The box!
A peek inside.
An info sheet listed all of the items in the box, along with descriptions, tips, retail values, and social media links.
Bodisafe Nourishing Lip & Cheek Highlighter ($20) – Both a lip and cheek product, this creamy vegan formula is made with organic, nourishing ingredients. It delivers plenty of hydration with shea butter and castor seed & jojoba oils. Subscribers received either “Charmed” or “Rustic Rose”. Mine looks to be Charmed, but actually looks a lot closer to Rustic Rose (which I like better anyway!).
Colorevolution Eyeshadow ($12) – Subscribers could receive 1 of 4 different shades of this mineral eyeshadow. I received “Desert Rose (DR1)”, which is a pretty pink color. The formula is made without any parabens, preservatives, or chemical dyes.
Dermadeli Invigorating Vitamin C Serum ($28.99) – Unlike most similar products, this Vitamin C serum is produced when your order is received and shipped right away. It doesn’t sit on a shelf for months until it’s purchased. For this reason, it’s recommended that you keep it refrigerated to ensure its freshness and potency. The antioxidant and repair qualities of Vitamin C help to repair skin from UV damage, decrease wrinkles, and improve skin’s elasticity.
Red Apple Lipstick ($23.50) – A vegan, gluten-free lipstick that’s free from chemicals of any kind. I’m normally not too stoked about receiving lip color (since I rarely wear it), but I actually really love this shade (“Naughty”). The website describes it as “a great ‘no-lipstick-lipstick’ with just a hint of tan”. Perfect!
Mannakadar Beauty Fantasy 3-in-1 Blush Highlighter Eyeshadow ($19) – A pearlized powder blush, highlighter, and eyeshadow all in one convenient product. The universal shade — Nude Blush Pink — complements any skin tone. Unfortunately, the ingredients listed on the pot included mineral oil, methylparaben, and propylparaben. 🙁
Bodisafe Beauty Night Cream (sample) – A small sample of night cream was also included as a bonus (not listed on the info card).
Overall, I was impressed with the debut Benevolent Beauty Box. I’m not totally sure why they included the Mannakadar product (made with parabens), but the other items were great. My favorite item was probably the lipstick, which I never thought I’d say. 😉 The total retail value was awesome at $103.49! Honestly, they didn’t even have to include the “bad” product and it still would have been a great box value-wise. Remember, for a limited time, you can save 10% on your first box with coupon code “WELCOME“!

Please, if I can warn anyone off this box, please heed my call. The woman running this box is beyond difficult to deal with. She doesn’t follow through with what she says, is beyond entitled and will write a book defending why she should do nothing about a issue. I’m sorry I every ordered their mystery box. There are other cruelty free boxes out there that care about their customers. This young woman acts as if she’s doing you a favor by selling you something. God forbid you should question it. Even Cratejoy her platform was more understanding sending me a $15. Amazon credit when I showed them the reams of emails she sent me. Beyond comprehension.
