Every so often, Birchbox releases a Limited Edition box. Their newest one is “Gym Bag Heroes”, which is a collection of gym/fitness-friendly beauty products and accessories. It’s currently available for $40 in the Birchbox shop.
If you’re new to Birchbox, it’s basically a monthly subscription box that sends you 4-5 grooming, beauty, and lifestyle samples for just $10/month. When you sign up you take a style quiz and they send you products that best fit your profile. Both well-known and up-and-coming brands are included, all in generously sized multi-use samples.
Let’s see what’s in the Birchbox Gym Bag Heroes box!
The box was heavy and featured a pretty iridescent lid.
The info card listed everything I’d find inside.
Pointe Studio Socks ($24/both)- I think these are honestly my favorite item(s) in this box. (Hey, I like socks!) Two pair of cushioned socks were included — one with a grippy pattern on the bottom, and one without.
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo ($9) – A weightless dry shampoo that quickly refreshes your hair without the need for a shower. It features a sea buckthorn berry scent and is ideal for all hair types.
Eyeko Sport Waterproof Mascara ($24) – I’ve never seen mascara packaged in a tube before. Eyeko’s formula is designed to stay put through any sweat session.
The Balm Cosmetics Stainiac ($17) – A multi-purpose stain that gives your lips or cheeks a fresh, rosy tint. I would have done a swatch, but I’m putting this in my trade/sell pile and I don’t think anyone would want an unsealed, slightly used lip stain. 😉
Sage & Row Bare Shave Cream ($17) – I’ve gotten this in another subscription box at some point and it’s still lurking in my house somewhere. I never use shave cream, so while this is a generously sized bottle, I think it will be joining its friend whose whereabouts remain unknown.
Avene Cleanance Soap-Free Gel Cleanser ($5) – This gentle, soap-free cleanser is made with French spring water and is pH-balanced to quickly remove impurities and leave you with clean, fresh skin.
Vapur Shades Anti-Bottle ($10) – A compact pouch-style water bottle that holds a half-liter of your beverage of choice. Once emptied it can be easily tucked inside your bag using minimal space.
Banded Splash Headband ($10) – A colorful headband that comfortably stays in place through any workout. A portion of its sales helps those in need.
Joha Stripes Earbuds ($8) – These weren’t listed on the info card, but I do remember seeing them in the original spoilers (I think?). Anywooo… They’re just your standard pair of white & silver earbuds, compatible with most Apple products.
All totaled, the Birchbox Gym Bag Heroes box has a retail value of over $120! Not bad for a $40 box, huh?
