Blessing Box is a new subscription box that is specially curated to be handed out to those in need.
Each box will contain an assortment of carefully selected snacks and essentials for you to distribute to the homeless or anyone likewise in need. Items may vary from box to box, but will typically include a nutrition bar, ramen noodles, crackers, nuts, raisins, mints, drink mix, pain relief, bandages, cleaning wipes, a bar of soap, lotion, and more.
Subscriptions are $10/month with free shipping within the US.
Let’s see what’s in the July 2016 Blessing Box!
Everything was tucked into a small white box which was shipped inside a protective poly mailer bag.
A peek inside! (As this box is meant to be gifted — and the items are all self-explanatory — an info card wasn’t provided.)
Eco Amenities Face & Body Bar – A small bar of soap that can be used for both the face and body. Certainly a useful inclusion for someone who may be living on the streets.
VO5 Moisturizing Lotion – Another thoughtful item that would probably be considered a luxury when you’re struggling just to afford food.
Colgate Wisp Mini Brushes – These are smartly designed single-use toothbrushes with toothpaste already “built in”. They require no water or rinsing… Just brush and toss. (Not the most eco-friendly product, but a handy option nonetheless.)
Comb – A standard pocket-side comb for grooming.
Austin Choco Cremes – A package of six Oreo-style sandwich cookies… Because everyone could use a little chocolate.
Sun-Maid Raisins – Including an actual piece of fruit in the box wouldn’t be very practical, but thankfully raisins are the next best thing.
Crystal Light Lemonade – Just mix this packet in some water for an instant lemony drink.
Maruchan Ramon Noodle Soup – I get that ramen is a quick & easy meal, which is why it was included… But… Where would you prepare something like this if you were homeless? (Not knocking it, just honestly curious if this could be used.)
Bandages – Properly covering cuts and scrapes is all the more important when you’re not living in the most sanitary conditions. This small box contains ten plastic bandages.
Advil – Another important item that’s always nice to have on hand.
Planters Salted Peanuts – A tasty & convenient source of fiber, protein, and healthy fat.
Nature Valley Peanut Bar – More peanut-y goodness, in bar form.
Solo Wipes Towelette – An all purpose moist towelette made of non-woven material that leaves no residue on skin. It’s alcohol-free and safe for all skin types.
LiveSavers Mints – A handful of mints for fresh breath anytime.
Blessing Box is clearly a well curated subscription box with an awesome mission! I can’t imagine how rough it must be for those living on the streets, but I’m sure receiving this box of snacks and hygiene essentials from a kind passerby would be much appreciated. It would even be a useful (and very affordable!) box to send to college students. 🙂
