It’s February 2017 bluum unboxing time!
If you’re not aware, bluum (yes, with a lowercase b) is a monthly subscription box for babies & kiddos from birth through age 5. Each box contains four or more products that are responsibly sourced, eco-friendly and often organic. The contents are based on the age of your kiddo in months, so there are many variations in the boxes that are sent in each shipment. (I don’t think I’ve seen any two boxes that were exactly the same.)
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
bluum now gives you the option to choose the exact items that you’ll receive in your box! When you log into your account you’ll be given a chance to pick one item from each of the available categories for that month’s box (food, toys, books, etc). If you’d rather be surprised, you can forgo picking and have them choose the items as they did in the past. They also give you the choice of opting out of the “mom” items, which I love because I kinda hated getting things for myself in a kid’s box. 😉
Subscriptions are $34/month or less with multi-month commitments. For a limited time, you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“.
My girls are currently 53 months old (remember — they go by months), so the bluum box I received was geared towards a 54 month (4 year old) child.
Let’s see what’s in my February 2017 bluum box!
The familiar red box!
A peek inside.
Usually there’s an insert indicating the current month and age range of your child, but mine was left out this time. Once your box is delivered, you’ll be able to log in to your account and view a list of its contents on their site.
Soapets Fefe the Dragon Bath & Shower Toy Sponge ($9.99)
Fefe the Dragon is a plush toy that can entertain your child in the bath, while getting them clean at the same time. She has a little mesh pouch on her belly with a sponge that you can squirt body wash onto — or replace with a bar of soap. There’s also a string on her back for hanging her dry and tightening the pouch on her belly to keep the sponge/soap securely in place. Not something I would have chosen on my own, but it’s cute nonetheless.
Discovery Kids 3D Readers Favorite Pets Book ($4.99)
This hardcover book from Discovery Kids comes with a pair of 3D glasses and 50 pet-themed 3D stickers. It’s packed with fun animal facts and 3D photos that leap off the pages. There’s even a quiz and glossary at the end to reinforce what your child has learned. Cool!
Fresh Baby So Easy Push Pop Maker ($3?)
I couldn’t find this exact item on Amazon, so I linked to a similar product. This push pop maker is made with 100% BPA free, premium food grade silicone. It’s dishwasher-safe and has it’s own little lid so it can also double as a snack container.
Spongefuls Soap-Filled Sponges ($7.95)
These sports themed sponges are infused with moisturizing soap to make bath time fun. Since the soap is already inside, it takes the worry away from spilling or wasting body wash. These are also TSA compliant, which is handy for those who travel often.
I honestly didn’t love my February bluum box. The items themselves were fine, but weren’t necessarily things that I would have chosen myself. Also, the total value (using Amazon prices) was about $26, which was kind of a bummer. That said, I think I’ll stick to choosing my own items from now on. 😉
