March bluum time! — I’m LOVING this whole “choose your own items” thing.
If you’re not aware, bluum is a monthly subscription box for babies & kiddos from birth through age 5. Each box contains four or more products that are responsibly sourced, eco-friendly and often organic. The contents are based on the age of your kiddo in months, so there are many variations in the boxes that are sent in each shipment. (I don’t think I’ve seen any two boxes that were exactly the same.)
bluum (yes, with a lowercase b) now gives you the option to choose the exact items that you’ll receive in your box! When you log into your account you’ll be given a chance to pick one item from each of the available categories for that month’s box (food, toys, books, etc). If you’d rather be surprised, you can forgo picking and have them choose the items as they did in the past. They also give you the choice of opting out of the “mom” items, which I love because I kinda hated getting things for myself in a kid’s box. 😉
Subscriptions are $34/month or less with multi-month commitments. For a limited time, you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“.
My girls are currently 42 months old (remember — they go by months), so the bluum box I received was geared towards a 43 month (3 1/2 year) old child.
Let’s see what’s in my March 2016 bluum box!
The big red bluum box!
A peek inside.
As always, there’s no printed info card… just a generic insert indicating the current month and age range of your child. Once your box is delivered, you’ll be able to log in to your account and view a list of its contents on their site. Since I chose the items myself, I knew exactly what would be in the box.
Apple Park Picnic Pal Beanie ($29) – I was SO excited when I saw this as one of the choices for my March box! Not only is this bunny beanie hat freakin’ adorable, but it’s also made with organic/sustainable materials. Win/win! I’m honestly not sure if my girls are going to be willing to wear it, but it fits children aged 2 through 6, so I’ve got time. 😉
Melissa & Doug Jumbo Brush Set ($6.23) – These weren’t a particularly exciting item, but I knew they’d come in handy at some point. The only paint brushes my girls have used are the tiny ones that I’ve gotten in kid’s craft subscription boxes. These jumbo ones are much easier for little hands to grab and are great for covering larger areas. Can’t go wrong with Melissa & Doug.
Imagine I Can Shape Stack ($8.95) – A fun little wooden travel-sized stacking game. Roll the die to see which colored piece you need to stack on the wobbly base. Take turns with other players until the stack topples over. (It’s a LOT harder than it looks. My record was 2 blocks. Yep, 2.)
The Biggest Kiss by Joanna Walsh & Judi Abbot ($6.54) – I’m kinda running out of room for all the books we’ve been getting lately, but I always welcome them! This one is all about kisses and features various animals giving lots of different smooches.
Yet another awesome box from bluum! Even if my girls never agree to wear it, I adore that sweet bunny hat. 😉 All of the items are from great brands and will definitely be enjoyed. March’s total retail value (using Amazon prices) is just over $50. Nice!!
Remember — if you’d like to sign up for bluum, you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“!
