May 2016 bluum unboxing time!
If you’re not aware, bluum is a monthly subscription box for babies & kiddos from birth through age 5. Each box contains four or more products that are responsibly sourced, eco-friendly and often organic. The contents are based on the age of your kiddo in months, so there are many variations in the boxes that are sent in each shipment. (I don’t think I’ve seen any two boxes that were exactly the same.)
bluum (yes, with a lowercase b) now gives you the option to choose the exact items that you’ll receive in your box! When you log into your account you’ll be given a chance to pick one item from each of the available categories for that month’s box (food, toys, books, etc). If you’d rather be surprised, you can forgo picking and have them choose the items as they did in the past. They also give you the choice of opting out of the “mom” items, which I love because I kinda hated getting things for myself in a kid’s box. 😉
Subscriptions are $34/month or less with multi-month commitments. For a limited time, you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“.
My girls are currently 44 months old (remember — they go by months), so the bluum box I received was geared towards a 45 month (3 1/2 year) old child.
Let’s see what’s in my May 2016 bluum box!
The box this month was HUGE and made me wonder exactly what I chose that required such a big box.
A peek inside. — Now I rememember!
As always, there’s no printed info card… just a generic insert indicating the current month and age range of your child. Once your box is delivered, you’ll be able to log in to your account and view a list of its contents on their site. Since I chose the items myself, I knew exactly what would be in the box.
My Activity Books for Girls ($10.07) – I was on the fence about choosing this activity book set, but I’m so glad I did! It’s so much nicer than I expected and I would have loved this when I was little. The set comes with 5 different themed books that feature pages for coloring, doodling, sticker activities, and more. Most of the books are full-color and are packed with things to keep your little one busy.
Petit Collage Mix & Match Little Miss Dress Up ($19.99) – I remember seeing these matching cards in Citrus Lane boxes before they closed up shop and always thought they looked cute. The triangular shaped box comes with 24 sturdy cards that can be arranged to make dozens of unique characters. My kids love playing dress-up these days, so hopefully they’ll have fun with these. 🙂
Fresh Baby My Plate Cutlery Set with Travel Pouch ($9.99) – When I saw that one of the utensils in this set had carrots on it, I KNEW it had to be ours. One of my daughters is absolutely obsessed with them — yes, carrots — so the fact that it also came with an orange travel pouch just sealed the deal. 😉 The utensils are lead free, BPA & phthalate free, as well as dishwasher safe.
Skeeter Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies ($6.89) – It was nice to see a FULL SIZE box of cookies in a kid’s subscription box for once. These are made in a 100% nut-free facility and contain no artificial preservatives, trans fats, or high-fructose corn syrup.
I absolutely love this month’s bluum box! I honestly wasn’t too sure when I finalized my choices, but now that I’ve gotten to see everything myself, I’m so glad I chose the items that I did. Every item is something that we’ll use and the carrot spoon is just too perfect. Ha! May’s total retail value (using Amazon prices) was just under $47! 😀
Remember — if you’d like to sign up for bluum, you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“!
