Let’s see what’s in my February 2017 BookCase.Club box!
Everything was shipped in a white and blue box with the BookCase.Club logo on top.
A peek inside! — As always, I chose the “Read to Me” Case which includes 4 hardcover children’s books.
A cute Valentine’s Day themed activity sheet was included for the kiddos.
Chick ‘n’ Pug by Jennifer Sattler ($11.21, Amazon)
A sweet picture book about a little chick — whose favorite book is “The Adventures of Wonder Pug” — and his encounters with a real life (not quite as exciting) pug who prefers sleep over adventures. Despite the pug’s lethargic indifference, chick takes it upon himself to save the day and become his official sidekick. A cute book for preschoolers and pug lovers alike. 🙂
I Didn’t Know That Sharks Keep Losing Their Teeth ($7.99, Amazon)
A colorful, beautifully illustrated book loaded with fun facts about sharks. I skimmed through a few pages and had no idea that some sharks are hatched from eggs, while others are born live like mammals. This is clearly a great book for anyone interested in learning more about these cool creatures.
The Adventurers by Rachel Elliot
This book tells the tale of a little girl who, along with her favorite toys, goes on a series of exciting adventures. They explore snow-capped mountains, sail the sea in search of sunken treasure, and look for lost cities in the hot desert sun. The book ends with the girl falling asleep with her toys, wiped out from all their travels. The illustrations are beautiful and it makes a great bedtime story.
Chiller Thrillers: The Secret of Spider Motel
I was a little surprised to see a chapter book included this month, as most (all?) of the past boxes have featured solely picture books. My girls are 4, so I’ll have to store this away until they’re ready for this older reading level. I did think it was cool that it included a creepy toy spider though. 😉
While I wasn’t too thrilled with the chapter book inclusion, I nevertheless enjoyed February’s BookCase.Club offering. My favorites this time were “Chick ‘n’ Pug” and “The Adventurers”. Two of the titles were no long being sold by Amazon, so I wasn’t able to get an exact total retail value… However, the two books that I did find values for add up to over $19 alone, so the value is clearly there. 😀 — Remember, if you’d like to sign up you can save 15% on your first month with coupon code “Rosebuds15“!
