Let’s see what’s in my June 2017 BookCase.Club box!
Everything was shipped in a white and blue box with the BookCase.Club logo on top.
A peek inside! — As always, I chose the “Read to Me” Case which includes 4 children’s books.
The Adventures of the Dish and the Spoon by Mini Grey ($7, Amazon)
A take on the nursery rhyme “Hey Diddle Diddle, the Cat and the Fiddle”, this book tells the story of the Dish and the Spoon as they make their way to New York City to seek fortune & fame. After doing just that, they wind up going on a spending spree and are quickly out of cash. This leads them to a bank robbery and subsequent time in jail where they are separated for 25 years. Once their time has been served, they meet up once again and do their old performances at no charge. Because fame & fortune is overrated. 😉
Little Baby Buttercup by Linda Ashman ($12.75, Amazon)
A sweet look at the day in a life of a toddler as seen through her mother’s eyes. Simple, rhyming text takes them from breakfast, to the garden, to the park, a coffee shop for a treat, and more. The illustrations are beautiful and Little Baby Buttercup herself is too cute! — This is hands down my favorite book of the bunch. 🙂
Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Dusty to the Rescue ($4.67, Amazon)
This story follows a world famous air racer named Dusty and his friends as they battle a massive wildfire and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero. My girls have never been into Planes, but they were very excited to see the 4 pages of full color stickers!
The Angry Birds Movie: Seeing Red ($2.19, Amazon)
Red wants to build his dream nest, but he needs a job to make it happen. He’s offered job after job, which he promptly gets fired from due to his nasty temper. Finally, he’s given a job where he needs to dress in a silly costume and entertain guests at “bird-day” parties. His costume even makes himself laugh, so he figures nothing can go wrong… From the reviews on Amazon, it looks like the story continues in the actual movie.
I was a little bummed to see two lower value, non-hardcover books in June’s BookCase.Club box, but it was still a decent selection. My favorites this month were the two larger ones — “The Adventures of the Dish and the Spoon” and “Little Baby Buttercup”. Using Amazon prices, the total value this month was just under $27. Not the highest value box, but still better than the monthly cost. 🙂 — Remember, if you’d like to sign up you can save 15% on your first month with coupon code “Rosebuds15“!
Michael Van Story
They quickly took the money off my card and have not sent the books as of yet. When i go to login to the site with my email and password that i wrote down and know that it is correct, it says that it cannot find my email so that i can cancel my subscription before they take money off every month for nothing. i will get my money back somehow and make sure you do not rip more people off!
