Bow & Arrow Box is a new fashion subscription that sends you a new collection of clothing and accessories every month.
Subscribers fill out an extensive personal style survey that includes a wide range of questions that include: Jeans preference (mid-rise, low-rise, etc), favorite colors, parts of the body that you prefer to flaunt/hide, favorite patterns, fabrics to avoid, and so on. Items can include rompers, leggings, cardigans, dresses, and tops, but also handbags, watches, jewelry, shoes, and scarves.
There are 3 different plans to choose from, depending on how many pieces you’d like each box to include. You also have the option to exchange your box two times per year, as well as pause or cancel whenever you’d like.
Subscriptions start at $50/month and US shipping is free.
Let’s see what’s in my February 2016 Bow & Arrow Box!
The box!
A peek inside!
Since this was just a review box, I wasn’t able to complete the extensive style survey. Instead, I just sent them my clothing sizes and noted that I wear dresses & tights/leggings 99% of the time.
I received three clothing items, as well as a piece of jewelry (in the pink tissue paper). I apologize in advance for the crummy photo quality, but they were taken with my not-so-new iPhone in not-so-ideal lighting. 🙁
Style London Dress – Okay, so it probably would have helped if I let them know that I’m not a fan of floral patterns. 😉 The dress itself fit fine and didn’t look bad on, but aside from the pattern I wasn’t crazy about the style. It had regular straps as seen in the photo, but is designed to have a fluttery off the shoulder look. Maybe if I were still in my early 20’s I could pull it off, but… I’m not. 🙁
Floral Leggings (Brand Tag Removed) – Ah, another floral pattern. While I love leggings and wear them every day in the colder months, I just can’t get down with floral ones. Sweater leggings, colored leggings, even heart patterned leggings are all fine… But floral? Nope.
Scarf – It’s hard to see in my (kinda awful) photos, but this scarf has bits of shimmery glitter throughout the fabric. I like the neutral beige-y color and it’s probably my favorite item in the box.
Earrings – I don’t have pierced ears, nor do I wear gold, so… Another miss. Remember — I didn’t get to fill out the style survey prior to receiving my box, so it’s totally not their fault.
While I clearly wasn’t thrilled with the pieces I received, I’m sure if I had been able to share my preferences with Dot & Arrow Box as an actual subscriber, I’d be a lot more satisfied. The style survey looks pretty in-depth, so I’m sure they have much more success sending ideal pieces when they’ve got that info to work with. 🙂
