August Bramble Box time! — This month’s theme is “Circus”!
If you’re not aware, Bramble Box is a fun subscription box for children aged 4 through 8 years old. Unlike many kid’s boxes which tend to focus on crafts and toys, Bramble Box encourages learning through open-ended pretend play.
Every Bramble Box is focused on a different theme and contains materials for hours & hours of free play fun. Boxes are gender neutral and can include such themes as detective, post office, bakery, and more. The materials are intended to help your child use their imagination, express themselves, improve reading and math skills, learn about the world around them, and overall, have FUN.
Bramble Boxes are available for purchase as single boxes, on a month-to-month basis, and as multi-month subscriptions. The monthly and one-time boxes are $25, while multi-month commitments are as low as $23/month. (Stay tuned for a 30% coupon code at the end of this post!)
Let’s have a look inside the August 2015 Bramble Box!
A peek inside. Hello, sleepy fox!
This month’s box is circus-themed and the box itself can be turned into a cute circus backdrop.
A Day at the Circus Board Book – A colorful circus-themed board book was included to show your child to what a circus is all about. I had to chuckle at the fact that “twins” were included as part of the acts. 😉
Sticker Scene & Paper Banner – A sheet of circus stickers was included for your child to attach to the included background page. The completed scene can be attached to the inside of the box for pretend play, along with the paper banner.
Stickin’ the stickers.
Scarves & Nose – Three lightweight pieces of fabric were included for juggling, as well as a red foam clown nose.
The girls had fun with the clown nose, even though it didn’t stay on very long.
Peg People, Outfit Stickers, Tattoo – Three wooden peg “people” were included, along with sticker outfits, a tiny red nose, and mustache. A circus-themed temporary tattoo was also added, which I had to hide from the girls since there was only one. 😉
Since my daughters are only 3, I decorated the peg people myself (and kind of enjoyed it!). I took the liberty of adding chest hair to the “strong man” and turned the ringmaster into a kitty. 🙂
They were the perfect size for the circus backdrop.
Tickets – Oh yeah — there were also pretend circus tickets printed on a heavy cardstock. There were only 3, so it looks like daddy won’t be attending. 😉
We had so much fun with this month’s Bramble Box! At first I wondered if there would be much for them to do, since I decorated the peg people myself, but they really enjoyed playing with the circus scene once it was set up. Ringmaster Kitty kept running up to the roof (top of the box) and they thought that was just hilarious. They also put the clown nose on throughout the day and watched daddy juggle the scarves for them. Fun!
