December BuddhiBox time!
If you’re new here, BuddhiBox is a subscription box that focuses on yoga and healthy living. Each month you’ll receive 4-6 full sized products to assist in your yoga practice, as well as everyday life. All products are from ethical, socially conscious companies and a portion of all boxes sold is donated to a different non-profit organization every month.
Subscriptions are $30.95/month or less with multi-month commitments. They also offer a sample box for $11.95/month that includes 2-3 product samples and coupons.
Let’s see what’s in my December 2015 BuddhiBox!
As always, an inspiring quote was revealed upon opening the box.
The info card includes descriptions of each product as well as their retail prices. It also indicates if an item is vegan, organic, and/or cruelty free. Every month a portion of their sales are given to a different charity. This month it’s Sharing the Gift, a non-profit organization that works to establish yoga classes and holistic healing modalities in children’s hospitals.
Shea Natural Serenity Massage & Body Oil ($8) – A 100% natural massage and body oil made with sweet almond, shea butter, and essential oils. Enjoy a relaxing aromatherapy experience with the soothing combo of lavender and rosemary (my favorite!).
Real Beauty for a Cause Bath Bomb ($2.50) – Woohoo! I love bath bombs. This one is 100% natural and contains epsom salt, baking soda, almond oil, citric acid, and essential oils. It looks like the scents vary by the season and this one is “Rose & Geranium”.
Love ROWAN Antler Pendant in Pouch ($25) – This pendant was created to support “Antlers for Orphans”, a campaign started by Love ROWAN (Rural Orphans & Widows AIDS Network) to sell shed antlers in Uganda to provide education funding for orphans. The info card states that it’s vegan, but their Etsy shop describes it as a leather cord, so… I’m not sure which is correct. Either way, it’s for a good cause and I like that they included the cute fabric pouch with it too!
Hara Healing Shop Lavender Detox Scrub ($15) – An all natural exfoliating & moisturizing scrub that detoxes as it smooths your skin. It contains a blend of pink Himalayan sea salt, organic sweet almond oil, organic hemp seed oil, and other plant-based scents/oils.
Raga Varnish Ganesha Nail Polish ($12.50) – This pretty gray polish is inspired by Ganesh(a), the Hindu god with the head of an elephant. He’s known as the remover of obstacles and the god of success. Raga Varnish is a 5-free nail polish, 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and made in the USA. It’s even safe for children and women who are expecting!
Buddha Teas 5th Chakra Tea ($11) – I was surprised to see a full box of tea, rather than an individual bag or two. Nice! This blend is designed to “invigorate the key elements of the 5th chakra” and is infused with the essence of aquamarine. It’s 100% organic and free of both GMOs and caffeine.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts – Since this wasn’t listed on the info card, I’m guessing this was just a little bonus item. I think I’ve gotten hemp hearts in at least 50% of the subscription boxes I reviewed in the last year. Seriously… They’re everywhere!
December’s featured yoga pose was “Garland Pose”. Full “instructions” were included on the reverse side of the card.
The featured recipe is a potluck-sized vegan Broccoli Hemp Potato Salad. Mmm!
I’m really impressed with December’s BuddhiBox. There were so many items this month! My favorites were the bath bomb, nail polish, pouch, and massage oil. I love that they included a full box of tea, but the flavor just doesn’t sound like something I’d enjoy. Tea pickiness aside, an awesome box! Oh, and the value was great too — over $70 in products. 😀
Thinking about signing up for BuddhiBox yourself? — You can save $3 on your first month with coupon code “buddhifriend“!
