I was recently given an opportunity to review an innovative new coffee product — Caffe Borsa Hand Drip Coffee Packets! I love me some coffee, so I happily accepted their offer. (They’re also letting me host a giveaway for my readers — woohoo!)
Caffe Borsa’s Hand Drip Coffee is a neat alternative to instant coffee — it’s portable, convenient, eco-friendly and actually tastes good too! Each packet is basically its own little brewing system. You simply open it up, attach it to your mug, fill with hot water, and bam! — Fresh coffee!
I’ll be honest, I’m a K-cup addict and LOVE my Keurig. However, I totally would have taken these to work back in my proofreading days. (We had godawful vending machine coffee and it was beyond bad.) Since I’m not currently a workin’ woman, I think I’m going to bring a few of these over to my non-coffee drinkin’ sister’s house to stash there for when I have a coffee craving. They’d also be great for camping and traveling… Or any situation that lacks decent coffee.
Alright, so I tried the packets out for the first time the other day and decided to take photos of the process. Aaaand… here they are! (Forgive my chipped nail polish and dry skin — my hands weren’t exactly prepared for this particular photoshoot. 😉 )
This is what the packets look like. There are 8 of them in each box.
The instructions are clearly printed on the back of the box, as well as on each individual packet.
Upon opening the packet, you’ll find this little guy — the drip bag.
There’s a perforated tab on top that you tear open to expose the coffee inside. (You don’t need scissors for anything — the outer packaging has a tear spot as well. Yay, convenience!)
Next, you pull apart the little paper extensions on both sides of the bag. These will be clipped to the rim of your coffee cup.
One side clipped on no problem… The other side was a little less cooperative and I had to play with it a bit until it properly held on. (They’re made of paper, so I’ll cut ’em some slack.)
Finally, you pour hot water into the bag and viola! — freshly brewed coffee!
(Can I just point out that I took all these photos myself — even while pouring the hot water into the little bag? 😉 *pats myself on the back*)
DONE!
Easy, right? My only complaint would be that it does make a small cup of coffee. The instructions say to use 6 ounces of water… I measured it out and didn’t notice what a small amount it was until the coffee was brewed. Other than that, I was pretty impressed. — It was simple to brew and tasted a hell of a lot better than instant coffee. 🙂
Giveaway time!

These look awesome! I’d use them in my favorite mug in the kitchen while the younger two kids are distract with a snack so I can have a silent sip moment before chaos starts back up.
