Time to get our zen on! — Let’s check out the July 2015 Calmbox!
I completely forgot to take a shot of the box itself — in too much of a hurry to see inside! The first look was promising: Tea, chocolate, and a candle. Can’t argue with that.
A 2-sided info card listed all of the items inside, as well as brief descriptions and reasons for their inclusion.
Zen and the Art of Happiness by Chris Prentiss – To begin your “mindfulness journey”, Calmbox included this life-changing book that shows you how to deal with stress and find happiness in your daily life. Being around twin toddlers 24/7, I could most definitely benefit from learning how to cope with stress. A smart choice to include in their debut box.
Moleskine Cahier Pocket Journal – Writing down your day-to-day thoughts helps to clear the mind. For this purpose, they’ve included a classic Moleskin lined notebook along with a Ticonderoga pencil. I write a few lines in a journal every night before bed and it really does help to get the words down.
Mindfulness Cards – Calmbox suggests carrying these cards with you to read when you’re feeling tense or overwhelmed. Their positive messages will help you to recenter and bring you back to your happy place. 🙂
Necklace – This was included as a “mindfulness aid” to remind you to stay calm and peaceful throughout the day. It can be worn or placed in a location where you spend a lot of time.
Gemstones – A small box containing 5 smooth gemstone “cubes” was also included to serve as a mindfulness aid. Gemstones are said to have healing powers and a 2-sided guide was provided to show you which each one can help with. It looks like I received unakite, amazonite, new jade… and I’m not sure about the last 2 on the right. They’re pretty though! 😉
Candle – The third and final mindfulness aid was a pure white votive candle. According to the info card, watching one burn for a few minutes can be a great way to clear your mind.
Yogi Calming Tea – I was happy to see tea included in the box, since I do often enjoy a cup when I’m feeling a little stressed. This is a “calming” blend, which is clearly an ideal choice for this box.
Pure Organic Chocolate Brownie Bar – Yum! I’ve had one of these bars in a different flavor and it was delicious. I can’t wait to try this chocolate brownie one! It’s vegan, gluten-free, and made with organic non-GMO ingredients.
What an awesome debut from Calmbox! The curation was great and the items were perfect for anyone looking to bring a little more peace to their daily lives. I’m looking forward to reading the book while I sip some tea and enjoy the brownie bar. Ahhh… zen.
