Vegan Presence April 2014 Review & Some Sad News

Like last month, my Vegan Presence package showed up a little later than usual. However, unlike last month, it was totally worth the wait!

If you’re not aware, Vegan Presence is a monthly subscription box service that features — you guessed it — 100% vegan-friendly products. Items can range from food to beauty to household essentials. You never really know what you’re gonna get, but you can rest assured that it’ll always be totally cruelty-free. (And packaged prettily too!)

Unfortunately, the April package — as awesome as it was — also came with some bad news. 🙁 I’ll save that until the end though. First, let’s see what’s in those pretty, spring-y packages up there! [read more…]

Citrus Lane Mystery Box Review April 2014

Citrus Lane recently offered a special “Mystery Box” for a one-time cost of $29. It promised to include $60 worth of products, so I had to order one. Try as I might, I just cannot resist the lure of a mystery box. Can not.

Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids aged newborn-5. It’s $29/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom.

This is only the second mystery box that Citrus Lane has ever offered (at least for as long as I’ve been a subscriber). The first one was for babies 0-12 months and sold out before I could even think of buying one. In hindsight, I’m glad I didn’t get that one, because they soon offered a mystery box for 12-24 month olds. That’s the box I’ll be reviewing. Let the mystery be revealed! [read more…]

Stork Stack is a monthly subscription box for babies and kiddos from newborn through three years old. Each stack will include at least five high quality products for baby and mom.

Stork Stack is $27.99/month, but they recently offered a code (now expired) to get your first box for half off, so I decided to give it a try.

Bike Loot March 2014 Review

Bike Loot is a monthly subscription service that helps cyclists “ride longer and live healthier”. Each month you’ll receive 5 to 6 pro-level cycling products that span the areas of nutrition, maintenance, and personal care. Boxes start as low as $10/month (plus shipping).

As with last month’s box, I was thrilled to see that everything in March’s box is vegan-friendly (well, except for one product which contains honey). Bike Loot certainly doesn’t claim to be a vegan box, but it’s always a nice bonus (for me anyway) when the products are. Woo!

My Sweet Carterie Review

My Sweet Carterie is a fun postcard subscription service based out of France. Every month, they design and create 3 beautifully illustrated cards and mail them out to subscribers to then send to whomever they wish.

Healthy Surprise is a monthly subscription box for snacks — vegan/gluten-free/soy-free, all-natural-super-fantastic ones! It’s a great box for those with food allergies, vegans (hey, that’s me!), or anyone who wants to snack a little healthier.

Ecocentric Mom “Mom & Baby” Box March 2014 Review

Ecocentric Mom recently switched from a monthly box to an every-other-month box. This is the second box I’ve received on their new “schedule”. I’ve been pretty happy with the change, as the boxes are still full of great stuff and now I have more time to use them between shipments.

As always, I received the “Mom & Baby” box. The other two options available are a “Mom-to-Be Box” and just a plain ol’ “Mom” box. Subscriptions are $24/every-other-month, but they often have discount codes available that are usually good for the life of your sub. (I was able to score a discounted subscription not too long ago and now my boxes are only $18/month. Not bad!)

Period for Good is a new “time of the month” box that gives you a chance to “do good” just by buying your monthly essentials. Every month, Period for Good donates 25% of their profits to one of six carefully chosen charities (you decide which charity you’d like your portion to support!).

Period for Good boxes are totally customizable. You can choose from tampons, pads, or a mix of both. They have a variety of popular brands, as well as organic.
