*As of December 2015, Citrus Lane is no longer in business. If you’re looking for an alternative, bluum is a great choice. — You can see my reviews of them here. With bluum, you can choose your own products and build your own box. They feature the same great brands, plus you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“.*
Once again Citrus Lane teased me with their early shipping. My box departed on the 13th, yet still didn’t make it to me until the 21st. SO slow! Thankfully, I was pretty happy with the contents, so I’ll forgive the Pony Express-like shipping time.
Citrus Lane is a subscription box for babies/kids 0-5 and can include anything from toys, to books, to toiletries, and everything in between. Boxes are $25/month, but you can save $10 on your first month when you click this link. Curious about past boxes? Read my previous months’ reviews here.
My box this month was geared towards a 13-month old girl. Let’s see what’s inside!
Crocodile Creek 5″ Rubber Ball – Everyone loves balls! 😉 This one is nice ‘n girly, complete with horses and flowers. It’s made with heavy duty textured rubber and is PVC/BPA/vinyl-free. Yay, balls! (Amazon Price: $12.99)
Ouchies Jr. Adhesive Bandages – I’ve heard of Olivia the pig, but I don’t know anything about her except that she’s cute. And she’s a pig. These bandages are designed around the motto “Hide your wound, not your style”. So I guess Olivia the pig is stylish. Who knew? These are 100% latex-free and this tin includes 20 bandages in various designs. (Retail Price: $5.00)
Episencial Mighty Shield Bug Repellant Lotion – This is a .5 oz travel size kid-safe bug repellent. I love that this is in lotion form, as opposed to spray-on. This is enriched with plant nectars and essential oils to naturally repel those icky bugs. (Amazon Price: roughly $1.47 for .5 oz)
Octopus Opposites Board Book by Barefoot Books – I’m always happy to get more books! This is a brightly illustrated board book that explores the world of opposites. Animals and rhyming text are used to make learning fun and keep your kiddos interested (fingers crossed). (Amazon Price: $7.19)
Clean Well Sanitizing Wipes – All natural sanitizing wipes for hands & face. Alcohol free and safe for sensitive skin. The orange vanilla scent smells SO nice — and it’s naturally derived! Love these! (Amazon Price: $7.50)
Fabkids Trial Offer – This is a coupon code good for one free outfit ($39.95 value) from Fabkids. I’m a little hesitant to use this, since it’s a subscription service and I don’t wanna make any commitments. I’ve heard of people using prepaid credit cards for things like this, so they won’t keep getting charged. I might look into that…
Bowling Pin Cut-Outs – These were a “bonus” item that Citrus Lane included in a select number of boxes this month. They’re experimenting with including more activities to engage the little ones with, in conjunction with the products they send. These pins are printed on a folded sheet of paper to be colored, cut out, and knocked down with the rubber ball in this month’s box. Cute idea and I like that they’re trying new things.
I’m pretty pleased with the variety of items in this month’s box. Everything will definitely get used, which makes it totally worth it. The total of all the items (not including the FabKids coupon) was $34.15. Pretty good! (Though I would never pay $12.99 for a rubber ball… Yikes!)
Interested in signing up for Citrus Lane? Wanna save $10 on your first box (making it only $15 for your first month)? Awesome! Just click right here!
