Citrus Lane time! I had already seen (and posted) some spoilers for the July box, but I was still excited to see everything inside. I’m never really 100% sure of every item that’ll be included until the box finally arrives.
If you haven’t heard, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids aged newborn-5. It’s $29/month (less with longer term subscriptions) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom. It’s by far one of my favorite boxes to open each month.
My girls are about 2 months shy of 3 years old, so this box is geared towards that age.
Let’s see what’s inside our July Citrus Lane box!
July’s box features a selection of items to “enhance play time and refresh the toy chest”. As always, the info card listed everything inside and included a few discount codes on additional items.
Melissa & Doug Water Wow! ($4.99) – I was really happy to see this in our box, since my girls have been obsessed with these lately. They’re mess-free “paint” books that your kiddo can color in with a (easily refillable) water-filled pen that magically makes colors and images appear on the pages. Once the page dries, the colors go away and it can be “painted” again and again.
Mark Mat from Modern Twist (~$15?) – This mat sells for $25 on both Amazon and Modern Twist’s site, but it also includes a set of markers. I have no idea why a placemat sells for so much, but… it does. It’s made of food-grade silicone and is BPA/PVC-free. Your child can use washable markers to color in the designs and when they’re all done you just wipe it off or pop it in the dishwasher.
Snapo Blocks ($11.99) – An 80-piece set of colorful blocks that can not only be stacked, but they slide and rotate as well. The box says that they’re compatible with most traditional toy blocks, which is good to know. My girls have been all about building things lately, so I’m sure they’ll have a lot of fun with these.
My Super Snack Apple Raisin Granola Bites (~$2.50) – A healthy soft granola treat made with real fruit, flax seeds, whole oats, and ancient grains. A perfect toddler snack!
I’m pretty happy with July’s Citrus Lane box. The only item I’m not thrilled about is the mat, mainly because we have so many already and never use them. Though it also would have been nice if they included a few markers as well. The overall value of the box was fair — roughly $35, or $6 over the cost of the month-to-month subscription.
