*As of December 2015, Citrus Lane is no longer in business. If you’re looking for an alternative, bluum is a great choice. — You can see my reviews of them here. With bluum, you can choose your own products and build your own box. They feature the same great brands, plus you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“.*
Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids aged newborn-5. It’s $29/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom.
This month’s Citrus Lane box included products to help celebrate the start of summer. I had seen a few spoilers, so I had an idea of what would be in my box, but I’m never 100% sure what I’ll get… Which is kinda the whole point of subscription boxes, right? 😉
Our box is geared towards a 22-month year old girl and here’s what was inside…
Bumkins Disney Themed Wet Bag – This was the only item I was 100% sure I’d be getting this month. Our age group (and a lot of others, it seems) were given the option to choose which wet bag we’d like from a handful of different Disney designs. To be honest, I’m not really a Disney fan at ALL, so I went for the pattern that was a little more subtle/didn’t scream Minnie Mouse. Anywhooo… This is a waterproof, zippered bag that’s great for storing wet clothing/suits after swimming, or a dry outfit to wear afterward. It’s got a convenient built-in handle and is machine washable. (Amazon Price: $10.95)
Mudpuppy Under the Sea Pouch Puzzle – I love this! (And not just because I have a thing for turtles… especially smiley ones!) My girls are super into peg puzzles right now, and though this is for ages 2+, I’m still happy to have it on hand for when they’re ready for more advanced ones. This has 12 pieces that all fit into a handy little zippered pouch. The puzzles are extra thick and are printed with non-toxic soy based inks. (Amazon Price: $11.99)
Skip Hop Zoo Straw Bottle – This is a handy lil’ bottle that helps little ones transition from sippy cups. I’ve been wanting to get the girls to start drinking from straws more, so this came at a great time (we only have one “straw-ed” sippy). Skip hop items are free of PVC/phthalates and are freakin’ adorable. We already have the owl lunchie and silverware set from previous boxes, so this is yet another welcome addition to our “collection”. (Amazon Price: $5.99)
Plum Organics Mighty 4 Essential Nutrition Bars – We gave these to the girls after dinner tonight and they loved ’em. They’re nutrition bars for toddlers made with ingredients from 4 of the food groups — whole grains, fruits, veggies, and yogurt. They’re organic and apparently delicious. 😉 (Approx. Retail Price: $1.67 for 2 bars)
Those were the “official” items I received this month, but I also took advantage of a couple promo codes/coupons that were good towards any purchase in the Citrus Lane shop. They often send these out to current or previous customers via email. You can use them for “regular” shop items, or special “add to box” items that Citrus Lane ships with your monthly box for no additional shipping cost. (So awesome!) I was able to score 2 different codes worth $10 each, so I got to add $20 worth of products to this month’s box. Woo!
Free Add-On’s: Hape Watering Can, Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Magnifying Glass, & Julius! Touch-and-Feel Stroller Cards.
This was a pretty okay Citrus Lane box. It wasn’t my favorite, but it wasn’t bad by any means. The value was right around the cost of the month-to-month box ($30.60 total), which was actually lower than past months, but still an acceptable dollar amount. I think I would have been a little more excited if the products were things we could use right now. The bottle is probably the only thing we’ll start using right away. Well, and the bars which have already been eaten. 😉
However, that said, the fact that I was able to get THREE FREE add-on’s this month totally made the box more than worth it. The free items alone are worth around $20. Not bad!
If you’d like to try Citrus Lane for yourself, you can score your first box for just $9.00 shipped (save $20!) when you use the promo code “TAKE20OFF“! That’s a seriously great deal!
Disclosure: I purchased this box on my own. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Amazon prices subject to change at any time. Post may contain affiliate/referral links.

I am not a fan of Disney at all, so I will probably be gifting the wetbag. Still have not received my box yet, but I always like a sneak peak.

High five for not being a Disney fan! Sometimes I feel like the only one out there… Dumb mouse! 😉
