Clean Bar Box time! — Yummy holiday scents await!
If you’re new to them, Clean Bar Box is a subscription that sends you a new selection of handmade bar soap every month. All of their soaps are totally free of animal products, parabens, lauryl sulfate, petroleum products, and preservatives. Each monthly box includes a variety of scents that are chosen to reflect the current season.
3 different subscription plans are available: The Large Clean Bar Box ($19.99 monthly) includes two full 5-ounce bars and two 2.5 ounce mini bars. The Large Clean Bar Box Every Other Month has the same contents as a regular large box, but is sent every other month for $19.99. The Four Bar Sampler Box ($14.99 monthly) includes four 2.5-ounce mini bars — more than enough for a month’s worth of use. All boxes are shipped free. (Pro tip: Clean Bar Box will be raising their prices slightly at the start of the new year. Anyone who subscribes before January 1st will be locked into the current rates, so now is the time to sign up!)
Let’s see what’s in the December 2015 Clean Bar Box!
The box!
As always, the box included a handwritten note on top of the soaps.
I received the “Large” Clean Bar Box. December’s soaps featured “festive soaps sure to bring out that holiday spirit and fill the air with scents to warm you up this winter”. Sounds good to me!
Candy Cane Soap – Oh wow… I want to use this one ASAP! It smells just like actual candy canes — the perfect blend of sweet peppermint — and instantly makes me nostalgic for holidays of my youth. Okay, that makes me sound like I’m 80… It totally gives me “all the feels”, as the youngin’s say. 😉
Cinnamon Latte Soap – An exfoliating bar infused with real coffee grounds, this is an ideal choice to give you a jolt of energy in the morning. The hint of cinnamon goes well with the coffee and makes for a nice combo.
French Vanilla Biscotti Soap – This one has a rather light vanilla scent that’s not quite as sweet as I would prefer. It’s nice and all, but I’m all about the stronger scents.
Pine Tar Soap – Now this bar has a much bolder scent. It smells like pine and is definitely the most masculine soap of the bunch. It’s also infused with ground oatmeal for exfoliation and activated charcoal for a deep, detoxifying clean.
I loved the scents included in December’s Clean Bar Box and am honestly a little sad that this is the last holiday-themed box for a while. The last few seasonal boxes have featured some of my favorite scents to date, so it’ll be interesting to see what they have in store for the new year. I’d be happy with a “holiday leftovers” box. 😉
If you’d like to sign up for Clean Bar Box, you can use the coupon code “FIRSTBOX” to save $3 on your first box. You can also save 15% on 3 month or longer subscriptions with coupon code “CLEAN15“.

I don’t like that this company uses lye, fragrance, and coloring — all of which can be toxic. There are much better soaps on Etsy.
