Bestowed is a monthly subscription box that features healthy snacks & foods carefully chosen by nutritionist/author Heather Bauer.
Boxes are only $19/month (including shipping!) and contain a nice variety of different snacks, food items, and beverages to help you start or maintain a healthy lifestyle. There’s a nice lil’ code at the end of this post that’ll save you $9 on your first box (making it just $10!).
December’s box focuses on “giving”. Each of the brands included gives back to their community in some way. Hurray for giving! That said, let me give you a look at everything I received… 😉
Saffron Road Thai Red Curry Simmer Sauce – I can’t wait to try this! I love me some curry sauce and was super happy to see that this stuff is totally vegan. Woo! It’s also gluten-free and made with non-GMO ingredients. Once my Christmas Tofurky is gone, I’m SO making a tofu-veggie curry. Mmmm!
Kind Dark Chocolate Chili Almond Bar – I love chunky bars with big ol’ bits n’ pieces in them… Especially when they’re drizzled with dark chocolate. So of course I was sad to see that this Kind bar contained dairy. 🙁 Why, Kind bar, whyyyyy?
Simply Organic Mediterranean Herb Greek Yogurt Dip Mix – I’m not much of a dip fan, so I wasn’t too psyched to see this. It’s a blend of organic spices that you mix with greek yogurt. I’m sure I could veganize it by using soy yogurt, but there’s still that whole “not a fan of dip” thing.
I Heart Keenwah Ginger Peanut Quinoa Clusters – I’ve had these crunchy little squares before (in a different flavor) and I wasn’t really into ’em. However, I love ginger, so I’m thinking maybe they’ll win me over this time. Maybe.
Snikiddy Baked Fries in Cheddar Flavor – This is the second time I’ve gotten these in a box, and the both times they’ve been cheddar flavored. Boo. I’d love to try the (vegan-friendly) original or sea salt ones. These ones are all natural and gluten-free though.
Pacific Organic Chicken Stock – Um, yeah. Totally not vegan-friendly. Totally not saying any more about it. 😉
So that’s December’s Bestowed box. It seemed to have less products than usual, but maybe these ones were higher value? I dunno. I do wish there were more vegan items, though they don’t cater to any specific lifestyles, so I can’t fault them for that. I’m sure most people without any dietary restrictions would be pretty happy with the selection.
If you’d like to try out Bestowed for yourself, they’re offering new members a great deal on their first box. If you click here and use the code “HELLOYUM40“, you’ll save $9 — making your first box just $10. Not bad! But hurry — offer ends 12/31/13!
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post contains affiliate links.

This was my first Bestowed box and I decided it would be my last. I had a code and got it for $10 but I wouldn’t been irritated had I paid $20. I did find the value if these items total and while over $10 it didn’t even come close to a $20 value. Eh. I loved the kind bar, Keenwah and cheddar chips but their November box is really what sold me and this month was nothing like last mo!

Yeah, I guess like most boxes, this one’s hit or miss. I like that they usually give you a nice selection of different types of healthy products. I just wish more of them were vegan.
