Let’s see what’s in the May 2017 Degustabox!
Everything was shipped in a big box with the Degustabox logo on the side.
A peek inside! – As always, all of the items were securely packed between a few strategically placed air pillows.
An info sheet listed all of the items inside, as well as brief descriptions, photos, and retail prices for each one.
Pure Growth Organic Original Oatmeal ($2.98)
This hearty oatmeal is made with just one simple ingredient — organic rolled oats. That’s it! Each serving is a good source of fiber and filling whole grains. Subscribers received Original, Apples & Cinnamon, or Maple & Brown sugar.
Barilla Farfalle ($1.68)
Pasta! We always called farfalle “bowties” as a kid and still do today. (I’m not even sure how to pronounce farfalle so bowties is just easier. 😉 ) This is made with high quality, non-GMO ingredients including semolina and durum wheat flour.
Barilla Traditional Basil Pesto ($2.99)
A perfect complement to the pasta above, this authentic basil pesto was made right in Italy. It features a blend of pure ingredients including basil, garlic, spinach, Grana Padano & Pecorino Romano cheeses, cashews, and more.
Village Harvest Quick Cook Whole Grain Blend ($3.29)
Ooh! — This looks like it’ll be super good! This quick cook grain blend includes golden quinoa, red & brown rice, black beans, and New World spices. It’s ready in just 15 minutes and makes for a great fiber-rich side or even main dish. Sounds good to me!
Mulino Bianco Galletti ($2.99)
Another product of Italy, these crunchy shortbread cookies are dusted with sugar crystals for an extra touch of sweetness. They’re perfect for dipping in coffee and contain no colorants, hydrogenated fats, or artificial sweeteners.
Soy Vay Asian Honey BBQ Marinade & Sauce ($4.99)
A unique marinade/sauce that combines the flavors of soy sauce, American-style BBQ, and sweet honey. It’s also studded with sesame seeds for a truly flavorful experience.
La Tortilla Factory White Corn & Wheat Tortillas ($2.99)
These handmade style soft & flexible tortillas are made with both white corn and wheat flour. They’re non-GMO and contain 14 grams of whole grains in each serving.
Mutti Finely Chopped Tomatoes ($2.29)
According to the label, Mutti is Italy’s #1 brand of tomatoes. This can contains only finely chopped tomatoes (99.8%) and just a bit of salt. It has awesome reviews on Amazon and looks to be approved by real Italians. 😉
Goya Lentil & Vegetable Soup ($1.99)
I’ve actually been craving lentil soup lately and was so excited to see this in the box… Until I saw that it contained chicken fat. 🙁 Such a bummer. That aside, it’s still loaded with fiber, gluten-free, and makes a healthy lunch or side dish.
Mulino Bianco Sfilati ($3.99)
Crunchy little oven-baked breadsticks flavored with tomato and oregano. These contain no preservatives or artificial colors and can be enjoyed as a snack or appetizer any time of the day.
Dandies Vanilla Marshmallows
These were listed on the info sheet as a “free gift” and they’re probably my favorite item in the box! You can’t go wrong with vegan-friendly (gelatin-free) jumbo marshmallows! 😀
A very Italian-themed assortment of goodies in this month’s Degustabox! My favorite items this time were the Barilla bowties, Village Harvest grain blend, Soy Vay sauce, Sfilati breadsticks, and of course the Dandies. 😉 — For a limited time (thru 5/31), you can get your first box for just $9.99 (regularly $19.99) — plus FREE shipping + a bonus box of Mrs. Thinster’s Cookie Thins! — To score this awesome deal, just use coupon code “2LRB2017” at checkout!
Stacy
I didn’t get the Dandies in my box. What a bummer! I thought this box was one of the best themed boxes they have had so far though.
Wendy Rose
Aw. Did you get the k-cups? There were actually two different versions sent this month. I think if you got the K-cups, you didn’t get the Dandies (and I think one other item).
Vianny
I got K-cups and didn’t get the Dandies or the Village Harvest Quick Cook Whole Grain Blend.
I really enjoyed my box and already used half of the items.
Wendy Rose
Oh, that’s right! The boxes that got the k-cups didn’t get the grain blend or Dandies. I think they sent the k-cup version to subscribers that indicated they have Keurig machines, and the other box to those who didn’t. 🙂
