Let’s see what’s in the September 2018 Degustabox!
As always, everything was shipped in a big box with the Degustabox logo on the side.
A peek inside!
An info sheet listed all of the items inside, as well as brief descriptions, photos, and retail prices for each one.
The Better Chip Jalapeño & Cilantro Chips
These deli style chips “dip like a chip, but stack like a cracker”. They’re gluten-free, vegan friendly, and made with non-GMO ingredients including whole grain corn masa flour, tomato, onion, cilantro, jalapeño pepper, garlic, and sea salt. I’m personally not much of cilantro fan, so I’m hoping the other flavors are more prominent here — especially since it’s such a large bag. (Fingers crossed!)
Handfulls Crrrunch Bites! BBQ Almonds
Well these look interesting… They’re whole roasted almonds that have been wrapped in a crispy rice cracker shell and flavored with BBQ seasoning. The nut/chip hybrids are gluten free and look to be vegan friendly as well!
Bauducco Chocolate Wafers
I’ve gotten similar chocolate wafer cookies in previous Degustaboxes, but this is the first one that was (surprisingly!) vegan-friendly. Woo! The cookies consist of 3 creamy layers of chocolate sandwiched between 4 crunchy wafers. Mmm!
Marion’s Kitchen Kung Pao Chinese Meal Kit
An all natural, gluten-free meal kit that includes kung pao sauce, baby corn, whole dried chilies, and peanuts. You just need to add your choice of meat/seafood, red pepper, and onion for a restaurant-style meal ready in only 15 minutes. I was hoping I could vegan-ize this by using tofu, but unfortunately (for me), the sauce includes oyster extract. Ah well.
Hippeas Organic Chickpea Puffs
Yum, chickpea puffs! These morsels of puffed goodness are 100% vegan and made with all natural/organic ingredients including chickpea flour, rice flour, sunflower oil, seasonings, and pea hull fiber. The Vegan White Cheddar is my favorite, but I was excited to see Happenin’ Hickory included as well. 🙂
Tiger Tail Classic Mustard
Mustard in a tube! This medium style mustard is made using an authentic German recipe that includes stone ground mustard seeds and other traditional mustard spices.
Garden of Life Chocolate Sea Salt GŌL Bar
An organic protein bar made with whole foods including dates, cashew butter, milk protein concentrate, cacao, and pink Himalayan sea salt. It’s packed with 13 grams of fiber, 12 grams of protein, and 25% of the recommended daily value of calcium.
Might Spark Food Co. Chicken Snack Sticks
Small batch chicken-based meat snacks made with antibiotic-free chicken and other natural ingredients. Each stick is packed with protein and has just 60 calories per serving.
Idahoan Instant Mashed Potatoes
I remember making instant mashed potatoes all the time when I was younger, but I can’t say that I’d be all that into them now. I suppose if you’re really in a hurry and need a side dish ASAP, these would come in handy. Just not my jam.
Marquis Citrus Yuzu
A non-GMO, organic, and lightly carbonated diet energy drink that’s both sugar-free and calorie-free. Ingredients include organic green tea extract, organic yuzu flavor, organic lemon juice, organic yerba mate extract, and organic stevia extract.
The Chia Co. Chia Shots
I’ve been using chia seeds in my daily smoothies for a few months now, so I was excited to see these handy chia “shots” in the box. Chia is the highest plant-based source of omega 3, fiber, & protein and it’s full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. These pre-portioned “shots” make it a lot easier to get the exact amount that you need.
PB Crave Peanut Butter Spread
All natural, gluten-free peanut butter spreads made with US-grown peanuts, honey, milk, and other wholesome ingredients. Two different flavors were included: Sweet & Dark Chocolate and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
GoCo Roasted Chia Seed Crunchy Coconut Bites
A crunchy coconut snack made with just four simple ingredients — coconut, modified tapioca starch, chia seeds, and salt. It contains no added sugar and is both gluten-free and vegan-friendly.
SunRype Apple Strawberry Fruit to Go
All natural gluten-free/vegan fruit snacks made with apple juice puree and concentrates of apple, pear, elderberry, strawberry, and lemon. They’re also nut-free and contain just 50 calories per serving.
Yet another great assortment of pantry staples, snacks, and more from Degustabox! My personal favorites this time were the Hippeas puffs, Bauducco Chocolate Wafers, Tiger Tail Mustard, and deli style chips. — Remember, for a limited time you can get your first box for just $9.99 (regularly $19.99) — plus FREE shipping! — To score this awesome deal, just use coupon code “CJOFFER18” at checkout!
