Let’s see what’s in the August 2017 DoodleBug Busy Bag!
As always, all of the crafts were shipped in a padded envelope and sealed in a ziplock bag.
All of the crafts were listed on info sheet, along with photos and tips on how to complete each one. — August’s theme was “Let’s Go on a Safari!” and included an assortment of fun safari/animal themed projects.
3D Jeep Craft Kit
I knew my girls would like this jeep craft because it looks like something they’d see on Wild Kratts (which they LOVE). It was pretty easy to assemble — just put the stickers on both sides of the foam “jeep”, then attach the foam wheels using the included wood dowels.
Preparing to assemble the wheels.
All done! The wheels actually roll too! (Well, most of time time.)
Foamies Color-In Safari Puzzles
The girls were super excited about these color-in puzzles and I was relieved to see that the package included one for each of them to work on. Yay!
Of course she had to draw a little carrot friend into the scene. Ha!
She took her time coloring in the butterfly & giraffe… Then her patience kinda wore off a bit. 😉
So colorful! — They even went back and colored the backs of the puzzles too.
3D Foam Safari Animal Craft
An easy craft that involved popping out the foam animal pieces, slipping them together, and adhering the self-adhesive eyes and details.
Getting ready to place the eyes.
I’m sorry, giraffe friend, I don’t know why she made you so wonky-eyed. We still like you!
Wood Color-In Leopard Mask
Using the provided markers (or your own), your child could color in their own wooden leopard mask.

Rainbow leopard!
DIY Super Safari Sticker Scene
Using the sticker sheet and background sheet, your kiddo could make their own safari scene.
Stickin’ butterflies in the clouds.
I love how she made the bee drive the jeep. 😉
Zoo Animal Bead Necklace Craft Kit
These beaded necklace crafts are always a hit with my girls. This one featured a happy monkey charm.

Monkey necklace: complete!
Jungle Adventure Coloring Book
A 32-page coloring and activity book was included for more safari-themed fun.
BONUS GIFT – Solar Eclipse Glasses
I was so happy to see that they included a pair of solar eclipse glasses! I really hadn’t given much thought to viewing the eclipse, but since I had the glasses I was able to watch bits of it and even snapped a few photos by putting them over the lens of my iPhone. 🙂
My girls and I really enjoyed August’s safari-themed DoodleBug Busy Bag! Our favorites this time were the color-in puzzles, 3D jeep, animal necklace, and coloring book. — Upcoming themes include “Camping Adventure” (September) and “Halloween” (October).
