Let’s see what’s in the July 2017 DoodleBug Busy Bag!
As always, all of the crafts were shipped in a padded envelope and sealed in a ziplock bag.
All of the crafts were listed on info sheet, along with photos and tips on how to complete each one. — July’s theme was “In the Ocean” and included an assortment of fun sea life themed projects.
Adhesive Jewel Mosaic Craft Kit
My girls love completing these mosaic craft kits and this one was neat because it had plastic self-adhesive jewels, rather than the usual round foam glitter stickers.
Finishing up our new crab friend.
All done!
DIY Unfinished Wood Wiggly Fish
For this craft, a wooden “wiggly” fish was provided, along with a few markers to color him in. I love when they include projects like this that allow the kids to fully unleash their creativity.
We decided to use our own markers, which was good as this particular fish was destined to be ultra colorful. 😉
Rainbow fish!! <3
Foamies Narwhal Kit
A simple craft that required you to adhere the self-adhesive foam pieces together to form a happy narwhal.
Positioning the belly.
Ta-da!
Ocean Animal Sand Art
We’ve gotten these sand art kits a few times before, but have never had much luck with them until now. I was never quite sure how they worked and I think I ended up peeling all of the covering off at once (instead of section by section), making it near impossible to complete. Whoops!
Now that I know how it’s done, I peeled off each section at a time and the girls had fun sprinkling the colored sand over the sticky surfaces below.
It was a great activity and we all loved how it turned out.
Under the Sea Glitter Foam Dots Craft Kit
Welp, looks like I wasn’t going to avoid glitter this month after all. 😉 This mosaic ornament craft was just like the larger ones from past bags, but in a smaller hanging ornament version.
Yes, I made her put a sheet of cardboard under the project to minimize dreaded glitter-spread. Ha!
That happy turtle is clearly oblivious to the plague of glitter on his shell.
Under the Sea Beaded Necklace Craft Kit
I say it every time, but these beaded necklace kits are always a major hit with my kiddos.
Stringing the beads — they loved the happy sea star.
We put the fish on the wrong side and now he looks like a floater. Sorry, fishy!
Deep Sea Art
A sea life themed sticker book and a blue sheet of cardstock were provided to create a deep sea scene.
Markers were also added to the mix.
Things get a little crazy at the bottom of the sea. 😉
As always, a fun assortment of engaging crafts from DoodleBug Busy Bags! Our favorites this time were the wooden fish, sand art, beaded necklace, and jewel mosaic. — Upcoming themes include “Let’s Go On a Safari” (August), “Camping Adventure” (September), and “Halloween” (October).
