DoodleBug Busy Bags time! — The theme for May’s “bag” was “Mom”!
If you’re new to them, DoodleBug Busy Bags is a fun subscription for little ones from Kidable Adventures (the company behind Little Thinker Box). Bags are aimed at children ages 3 through 9 and contain all of the materials needed to complete 4 to 8 fun crafts. Each bag will focus on a different theme, often relating to upcoming holidays or seasons. Monthly subscriptions are $15.99 and include free shipping.
Let’s see what’s in the May 2016 DoodleBug Busy Bag!
As usual, all of the crafts were shipped in a padded envelope and sealed in a ziplock bag.
May’s theme was “Mom” in honor of Mother’s Day. All of the crafts were listed on the info sheet, along with photos and tips on how to complete each one.
Mom Sunshine Foam Sign Craft – A colorful foam Mother’s Day decoration for little ones to assemble. Simply peel the adhesive from each foam sticker and place them on the blue sign. Attach the purple string and it’s ready to display.
Positioning the all-important sun shape.
All done!
Felt Flower Bouquet Craft Kit – This is one of my favorite crafts we’ve ever gotten in a DoodleBug Busy Bag. — An adorable DIY felt flower bouquet complete with a ribbon to tie it together. So cute!
Pushing the pipe cleaners through the felt leaves and flowers was a bit tricky, so I handled that part. The girls got the fun job of decorating the insides of the flowers with the colorful foam pieces.
The bouquet turned out great! — Definitely display worthy. 🙂
Wild About Mom Magnet Craft – Another easy foam craft featuring a “Wild About You Mom” sign for the fridge.
Anything that involves letters is a win with my kiddos.
Unfortunately, the provided magnet didn’t stick very well but with a little glue it should be fine.
Mini Mom Sticker Card – A sweet little “M-O-M” card for your child to decorate with the included spring themed stickers. The text reads “Thank you for always being un-bee-lievable!”.
Sticking on her “mommy bee”. Aww.
Love it!
#1 Mom Beaded Necklace Craft Kit – The perfect accessory for Mother’s Day, this necklace craft featured both wooden and plastic beads.
The letters were a bit tricky to attach (they had 2 rings to thread), but the girls had no problem with the other beads.
Toadally Awesome Mom Sign Craft Kit – The final craft was another foam sign that read “Mom you are “toad”ally awesome!” complete with a mommy frog.
They were surprisingly good about not covering up the text. Must be due to their extreme obsession with letters.
Flower-nosed mommy frog.
I can always count on DoodleBug Busy Bags to provide us with some fun holiday-themed crafts. We actually completed these today (on Mother’s Day) and it was a nice way to unwind/digest after returning home from a relative’s for brunch. 🙂
