Let’s see what’s in the May 2018 DoodleBug Busy Bag!
As always, all of the crafts were shipped in a padded envelope and sealed in a ziplock bag.
All of the crafts were listed on an info sheet, along with photos and tips on how to complete each one. — May’s theme was “Crafting Fun” and included a collection of crafts that required more parental involvement for extra quality time together.
Mom and Me Memory Book Craft Kit
Two Mother’s Day themed crafts were included this month, with the first being this memory book. It consisted of a pink foam cover, roughly a dozen memory pages, a sheet of colorful stickers, and lacing string to hold it all together.
Drawing a picture of “mom & me” for the cover.
All stitched together with her sweet drawing in the center.
One of my girls completed the first page and I’m not sure if I’ll let her finish the rest, or have them both do alternating pages so they can each contribute to it.
DIY Flower Ornament + Markers
The second Mother’s Day themed craft was a wooden flower ornament. Your child could use the included set of markers to color and decorate it as they wish.
If they’re not drawing/coloring carrots or butterflies, it’s rainbows. 🙂
Pretty!
Sea Life Lacing Felt Plush Craft Kit
These felt plush kits always turn out so cute! Subscribers could have received a fish, turtle, or octopus friend. My carrot-obsessed daughter was happy to see that we scored the bright orange octopus. 😉
The stuffing step is always their favorite.
This was their most loved felt plushie yet! It was even taken up to the girls’ bedroom to sleep with their other stuffed friends. Aww.
Magic Color Scratch Bird and Birdhouse Ornaments
Using the included scratch tool, your child can etch designs and words into the black coating to reveal the pretty rainbow colors beneath. Blue cords were provided to hang up the finished works of art.
Scratchin’.
They don’t quite understand the “don’t just scratch it all off, make a design” concept yet. 😉
Aquarium Box Craft Kit
This neat aquarium box craft was one that definitely required a little extra parental help to complete. In fact, my husband pretty much constructed it all himself… Mainly because the girls were too into working on the other crafts to want to stop and help build it. Kids…
I think box folding was the only step the girls helped with. Ah well. 😉
The girls did approve of the end result and said it was “SO cute”.
Once again, a fun collection of engaging crafts from DoodleBug Busy Bags! We were a little sad not to see any stationery items this month, but the adorable felt octopus plush totally made up for it. 😉 — If you’re interested in subscribing, the June-September bags won’t have any dedicated themes. However, October’s will be Halloween. 🙂
