April 2017 Ecocentric Mom review time!
If you’re unaware, Ecocentric Mom is a unique subscription box that features mom & baby products that are eco-friendly, natural, organic, and often vegan-friendly. There are 3 different box options to choose from: The “Mom & Baby” box (for moms & babies up to 18 months), “Mom-to-Be Box” (for the expecting mom), and just plain ol’ “Mom” box. They also offer an “Ecocentric Box” for women in general (moms and non-moms alike!).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $24.95/month, or less with multi-month commitments. You can choose to receive boxes monthly or every-other-month. Shipping is free. — For a limited time, you can save 40% on your first box with coupon code “ECOHOLIDAY“!
Let’s see what’s in the April 2017 Ecocentric Mom “Mom” Box!
I was surprised to see a brand new box design this month! I’m liking the light blue/green.
A peek inside.
While I liked the new box, I wasn’t too happy about the new info-less “info” card. They had previously included a 2-sided info card listing all of the items in the box, along with brief descriptions and retail values for each one. Now you’ll need to go to their site to access that info. Not a HUGE deal, but having the physical list in front of me was nice (especially from a reviewer’s standpoint!). However, on the plus side there’s a LOT more info included on each product with the digital version.
Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens Mini Reusable Snack Bags ($13)
These eco-friendly, 100% cotton snack bags are food safe and machine washable. The inside lining is water resistant and BPA free. Each of these zippered bags measure 7″ x 3 1/2″ and are great for holding snacks, toiletries, crayons, game pieces, and just about anything else that can fit inside. 🙂
South of France Bar Soaps ($2.38 for both)
Two different scents of French milled bar soaps were included — Almond Gourmande and Climbing Wild Rose. Both bars are made with organic shea butter, coconut oil, sustainable palm oil and other natural ingredients to create a creamy lather and leave you with soft, moisturized skin. They’re also totally free of phthalates, sulfates, parabens, gluten, and animal by-products (yay!).
Hannahpad Pantyliner ($13.99)
Hannahpad is an eco-friendly alternative to regular disposable pads/pantyliners. The pads are made of 100% organic & natural cotton layers with a special waterproof coating which makes the outer layer fully leak-proof. While I’m not sure that I’d take the reusable pad plunge myself, I must say this is way cuter than conventional pads!
Manna Kadar Flutter Mascara in Jet Black ($29)
This “flutter” mascara helps you get full and curled lashes with its one of a kind curvy wand. The round tip allows you to grab hard-to-reach lashes and also ensures a clump free application. Use alone or with lash primer for an even more dramatic look.
Dr. Brite Cleansing Mouth Rinse ($6)
An all natural mouth rinse that freshens breath for up to 12 hours. It contains activated charcoal to whiten teeth, as well as aloe vera juice to help decrease gum inflammation and hydrate the mouth. This handy travel sized bottle is TSA compliant and air travel approved. 🙂
Essential Wipes Travel Tube by Essential Wipes ($4.99)
This little tube contains 10 dry compressed bamboo tablets infused with organic therapeutic essential oils. Just dampen one with about an ounce of water and it expands into a cleansing, eco-friendly towelette. Each expanded towelette measures 8″ x 10″ and is naturally antibacterial & safe for the whole body.
St. Tropica Coconut Hot Oil Hair Mask ($5)
A single use chemical/paraben/sulfate-free hot oil hair treatment made with 100% organic ingredients. It boasts “hair superfoods” including virgin coconut oil, coconut butter, biotin, horsetail, and green tea. To use, just heat the BPA-free pouch in the microwave, apply to scalp, cover, and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight.
Unidose Gels by Para’Kito ($4)
DEET-free mosquito repellant gel in handy “snap & squeeze” packets. The formula is made with essential oils including citronella, rosemary, geranium, mint, clove, and peppermint. Just apply to exposed skin and enjoy up to 5 hours of protection.
April’s Ecocentric Mom box was packed with useful, eco-friendly items for moms and non-moms alike. My favorites this time were the Itzy Ritzy bags, bar soaps, mascara, and mouth rinse. The total retail value of everything in this month’s box was just under $80! — Remember, for a limited time you can save 40% on your first box with coupon code “ECOHOLIDAY“!
