Ecocentric Mom time again! I always forget when to expect this box, since it comes every-other-month… It tends to slip my mind until I see it on my doorstep. Whatever, no complaints here!
If you’re unaware, Ecocentric Mom is a unique subscription box that features mom & baby products that are eco-friendly, natural, organic, and often vegan-friendly. There are 3 different box options to choose from. I subscribe to the “Mom & Baby” box, but they also offer a “Mom-to-Be Box” and just a plain ol’ “Mom” box. Update: They also just announced a new “Ecocentric Box” for women in general (moms and non-moms alike!).
Subscriptions are $24/every-other-month, but they sometimes have discount codes available that are usually good for the life of your sub. (I was able to pick up a discounted subscription a while back and now my boxes are only $18/month.)
Let’s see what’s in the box!
First look: Their signature pink tissue paper & Ecocentric Mom heart logo sticker.
The info card (front & back) lists all of the items in the box, along with a brief description of each one. Also included are some tips for a more eco-friendly 2015.
“Mama Loves Me” Board Book – A fun board book about a mama elephant and her baby. Kiddos can follow Mama’s big blue trunk through each of the pages. Cute!
Pura Botanic Bath Infusion Lost in Lavender Bath Salts – I love bath products so I was excited to see these all natural, eco-friendly bath salts. The biodegradable pouch contains a blend of mineral sea salts, essential oils, and natural herbs & flowers. The lavender scent is sooo nice.
Amara Organic Dried Baby Food – These have shown up in quite a few Ecocentric Mom boxes, and frankly I’m kinda sick of seeing it. My kiddos were never fans of dried baby food, so I always toss them into smoothies.
Flavrz Organic Drink Mix – I’ve gotten this “water enhancer” in other subscription boxes and it’s not too bad. You just mix it with water to give it a bit of flavor. I really need to up my water intake so I should probably look into getting more of this stuff.
Kelapo Extra Virgin Coconut Oil – These coconut oil packets have been in a TON of subscription boxes too. It has a zillion different uses, from hair conditioning to “oil pulling” to sautéing. The .5 ounce pouch is pretty convenient if you don’t feel like measuring, or want to take some coconut oil along with you on your travels(?).
Natural Seal Liquid Bandage – This is a water based, spray-on “bandage” that helps stop bleeding and prevents infections in minor cuts & scrapes. It’s “sting-free” and contains no chemicals or other icky irritants.
BumBoosa Bamboo Baby Wipes – We’ve gotten these in a lot of boxes too… Natural baby wipes made with 100% viscose from bamboo. They smell really nice (thanks to the essential oils) and we can always use more wipes.
Snack Out Loud Crunchy Bean Snack – Crunchy, high fiber snack made with pinto beans. It’s gluten free, vegan, and made with non-GMO ingredients.
Overall, I thought the January/February Ecocentric Mom box was… pretty alright. The value seemed to be there and the products were nice, but I wish there were more items for baby and less for mom. I also wish there were more new brands… Sure, the ones they include are fine, I just wish there was a little more variety. (Maybe I’ve been subscribing too long? This box is geared towards babies up to 18 months old, but I’ve been sticking with them even though my kiddos are 2 1/2.)
If you’d like to sign up for Ecocentric Mom — or the new Ecocentric Box — you can save $5 on your first month when you use coupon code “ecolove2015” at checkout! But hurry — the code is only good through 2/14.

I recently changed my box from “baby” to the “mom” box. This is my favorite box. This month’s box was a little bit of a miss, but they did include a great vegan cute make up purse.

I’m thinking I should switch soon too. My girls aged out of this box a long time ago (though the books are always fun to get). I might try the new Ecocentric Box (not necessarily “mom” focused). 🙂

It looks like you didn’t receive the Nourish food pouch that was listed on the card either. I thought they just left mine out, but maybe no one got it? I received a few other random items that weren’t on the card, but no food pouch. 🙁

Oh yeah! I totally forgot to mention that in my review. I didn’t bother emailing them, since I wouldn’t have used the pouch anyway. You should let them know!
