This is my first “real” month of Ecocentric Mom. I had previously ordered one of their limited “mystery boxes” and was totally impressed with what they sent. Needless to say, when they offered a discount code (now expired) that took $3.00 off the monthly cost for the entire time that I’m a subscriber (making it $18/month), I had to jump on it. Had to!
If you’re not aware, Ecocentric Mom is a monthly subscription box for moms, babies, and moms-to-be. They feature natural products that are both healthy and eco-friendly. Subscriptions start at $17.00/month and you have your choice of the “Mom”, “Baby”, or “Mom-to-Be” box. I’ve chosen the Baby box, since I’d rather have items for the girls (and I really don’t want any weird facial serums & junk!).
Let’s see what I got in my July box, shall we?
Babysoy 2-Tone Socks (6-12m) – These are cute little sockies made with a blend of soy, cotton, and nylon. I would have liked more “girly” colors, but no biggie. To be honest, I’m a little nervous that these won’t fit anyway. The girls are less than 2 weeks from turning one, and they’ve inherited mommy’s big ol’ feet. Ah well. They’re cute nonetheless (the girls and the socks). (Amazon Price: $3.68)
Bumkins SuperBib (6-24m) – You can never have too many bibs! Well, I can’t… Twins are messy little things. This is vinyl-free, PVC-free, BPA-free… It’s one damn healthy, eco-friendly bib! It also features the artwork of the late Keith Haring. (Amazon Price: $6.95)
NurturMeals Organic Dry Meal Pouches (3) – Organic, gluten-free powdered baby food. Mix with formula, breastmilk, or water and eat! I’ll be honest, we’ve tried these with the girls before and they were NOT a fan. They both made the “face of utter disgust” and refused to accept another bite. The pouches do say that you can “sneak them into meals” to add more nutrients, but we’re not quite at the actual “meals” stage yet. Maybe we’ll try again in a few months… (Amazon Price: roughly $5.06 for 3)
Greene Street Soap – This is a sample-sized “bar” of soap in Oatmeal. I LOVE getting soap samples, and this is no exception — it smells SO friggin’ good! It’s made with all natural ingredients and essential oils. All of their soaps are vegan and packaged in recyclable wrappers. Nice! (4oz size is $4.00, so I’ll estimate this at $1.00)
LARABAR ALT Protein Bar in Lemon Pound Cake – Oooh! This sounds so good! I’ve recently had one of these in “Peanut Butter Cookie” flavor and it was delicious. Lemon Pound Cake sounds awesome, since I’ve been on a bit of a lemon kick for the last couple years. (Does one’s love of citrus increase as they age? Lemon always reminds me of old people. Hmm…) No offense “old people”. I love you mom! (Amazon Price: roughly $1.77)
Cascadian Farm Oats & Honey Granola Bar – This has just 7 ingredients, and all of them were delicious! Crunchy, sweet, and a perfect mid-day snack. (Amazon Price: roughly $1.50)
Wellinhand Kiddie Calmer Sea Bath Salts – This stuff is Fragrant! (Yep, with a capital “F”.) Mike came home from work and was all “What’s that smell?”. He said he could smell it from the kitchen. Impressive. These soothing salts are made with only the purest ingredients, including essential oils. I’m not gonna lie, I’m probably going to use this for myself. 😉 (20oz size is $11.99, so this 7oz sample is roughly $4.20)
Nourish Baby Food Pouch – Reusable baby food pouch in a fun polka-dot design. I’ve gotten these in the past and didn’t have a use for them, so I’ll pass this along to someone else as well. I really don’t have the patience to be fillin’ pouches. Especially with twins. (Amazon Price: $1.70)
Wellements Baby Gripe Water – I didn’t even know organic gripe water existed. Neat. This is made with all natural ingredients and is free of nasty chemicals, preservatives, etc. Thankfully, we haven’t needed to use gripe water for quite some time, as the girls’ tummy issues went away a while ago. BUT I just noticed that it can also be used for teething pain. We can definitely use some help with teething — 4 down, a whole lot more to go! (Amazon Price: $11.95)
Milky! (2 bottles) – These are all-natural drink supplements to help promote lactation. They’re made with herbal teas and come in strawberry flavor. Since I don’t breastfeed, I don’t really have a use for ’em. (Retail Price: $5.98 for 2)
Aromatics & Herbs Not Just for Butts – Diaper rash salve made with organic ingredients. It “helps soothe eczema, brush burns, cuts, dry skin, and more!” Safe for use with cloth diapers too! (Retail price: $2.75 for this travel size)
Woah! That was a whole lotta stuff! I paid $18.00 for this box, and all totaled, the contents come to $46.54! Awesome! Wanna check out Ecocentric Mom for yourself? Click right about… here! If you decide to sign up, I’d love it if you mentioned that you were referred by Wendy Rose! 🙂
