Ecocentric Mom time! I keep telling myself to switch over to the “mom” version of the box, but I’m just not ready to give up the cutesy baby things (or admit that my 2 1/2 year olds aren’t babies anymore!).
If you’re unaware, Ecocentric Mom is a unique subscription box that features mom & baby products that are eco-friendly, natural, organic, and often vegan-friendly. There are 3 different box options to choose from. I (still) subscribe to the “Mom & Baby” box, but they also offer a “Mom-to-Be Box” and just a plain ol’ “Mom” box. They also recently announced a new “Ecocentric Box” for women in general (moms and non-moms alike!).
Subscriptions are $24/every-other-month, but they sometimes have discount codes available that are usually good for the life of your sub. (I was able to pick up a discounted subscription a while back and now my boxes are only $18/month.)
Let’s see what’s in the box!
The info card (front & back) lists all of the items in the box, along with a brief description of each one. Also included are some tips for creating a more healthy home environment both indoors and out.
Bright Baby Touch and Feel Easter Board Book – We have SO many books for the girls, but I’m always happy to get more. Unfortunately, I think we already have this one (possibly from a subscription box last year). That totally won’t stop me from putting it in one of my girl’s Easter baskets this year though! 😉
EcoTrek Fitness Whole Food Bar in Dark Chocolate Raspberry – Woah — this single bar has the equivalent of 6 servings of fruits & veggies. It also contains 10 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber, and is 100% vegan. Nice!
Pure by She She Baby Wash & Shampoo – Organic, 100% natural baby wash & shampoo made with plant-based ingredients including coconut, olive, and jojoba oils. I love the sweet orange scent.
Brigit True Organics Peppermint Lip Balm – This lip balm is made with 99.5% organic ingredients and all of the products from this company are gluten-free, soy-free, & nut-oil free.
Camilia Teething Relief – Natural teething relief packaged in convenient, single-use doses. I received these in a past box and they did seem to help ease the pain (or at least stop the crying for a bit).
Baby Bits Wipes Solution – I like the idea of saving money (and the environment) by doing away with disposable wipes, but nope… Not gonna happen. These little cubes contain enough natural cleaning solution to wet 100 wipes and are vegan & cruelty-free.
Country Choice Organic Steel Cut Oatmeal – A single-serve packet of USDA certified organic oatmeal made with a multi-grain blend of oats, rye, barley, and wheat. I’m not an oatmeal fan, so I passed this along to my mom, who most definitely is.
Goddess Garden Organics Sunscreen Samples – 3 samples of natural, chemical-free sunscreen. Included were Sunny Kids (for children), Sunny Face (with anti-aging properties for mom), and Sunny Baby (safe for babies 6 months and older).
Bear’s Beauty Vegan Natural Deodorant – I’d love to make the switch to an all-natural deodorant, but every time I try it works for a while and then I start getting all stinky. Maybe this one is the answer? We’ll see!
Nourish Reusable Baby Food Pouch – This wasn’t on the info card, but I believe it was included because it was left out of my last box. I do remember I was missing an item, but totally forgot about it until I saw this. Nice lookin’ out, Ecocentric Mom!
Eco Eggs Easter Egg – Okay, I saved the best for last! — An eco-friendly Easter egg made from non-toxic, plant-based plastic filled with yummy (and vegan!) Equal Exchange dark chocolates. The egg is 100% compostable after use and the chocolates were tiny, but delicious!
While my girls are way past the recommended “baby” age for this box (up to 18 months), I still manage to get use out of most of the products Ecocentric Mom sends. This month’s box was no exception. The only things I probably won’t use are the Baby Bits, the teething relief, and the pouch. To switch to the mom box or not to switch to the mom box…
