Let’s see what’s in the Summer 2016 FabFitFun box!
The box! — I love the cute summery illustrations. 🙂
A peek inside.
A full-color booklet/mini mag provided details on all of the items included in the Summer box, along with “5 more reasons to do yoga”, a Q&A with Trina Turk, and more.
Trina Turk Canvas Tote ($55) – This canvas tote was the very first spoiler released for the summer box. There were 3 different versions sent out, which annual subscribers could choose from. Somehow I never got word that the window was open for selections and I didn’t get to pick. 🙁 I ended up getting the orange one above — the one I wanted the least out of the 3, so I was a little bummed. I really would have preferred the blue “Seas the Day” or yellow “Sunshine and Saltwater” one, but what can ya do. It’s still a nice, roomy summertime tote.
FabFitFun Everyday Beach Waves Spray ($18) – A conditioning spray created by FabFitFun that gives your hair the coveted beach waves look. It’s infused with meadowfoam seed oil to condition and protect while providing a light hold.
Stemulation Daily Micro Derm Scrub ($34) – This gentle exfoliating cleanser was designed to brighten and energize your skin by removing dead skin cells leaving you with a clean, fresh glow. It’s made with plenty of plant-based ingredients including aloe leaf juice, green tea extract, milk thistle, and orange peel oil. It’s a large (8 ounce) bottle, so I’m hoping it works well with my super sensitive skin. 🙂
Summer & Rose Yoga Towel ($36) – I believe this was the second spoiler and another item that came in 3 different variations. Again, I wasn’t able to choose the version I wanted but i’m okay with the one I received. (Note: The second photo above is from FabFitFun. I wasn’t sure if I was going to keep mine at first, so I didn’t open it for photos.) This moisture-wicking microfiber towel is made of 80% polyester & 20% nylon and reads “More happy, less worry”. The other options were “Dream big” on an orange towel, and “Good vibes” on purple.
Passport to Beauty Gypsetter Luminous Lips in Flower Child ($18) – I’m honestly not sure why this gloss sells for almost $20 when the ingredients list is full of unpronounceable chemicals that I wouldn’t want to put anywhere near my lips. There are so many great natural brands out there that they could have easily featured instead. Meh.
Betchsicles Ice Pop Molds ($19) – Um… Yeah. Betchsicles. I had no idea what these were supposed to even be until I read the info booklet… Champagne bottles. They actually look more like bowling pins, cow udders, or really stretched out used condoms (ew) to me. I foolishly read the article included in the booklet entitled “How to have the most betch-ing summer ever” and immediately felt my IQ drop a few dozen points. Wow. Oh, needless to say, these… things will be going right into the swap pile. 😉
Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream ($48) – I’m actually excited to try this product. My face has been super dry lately and I’ve been looking for a good moisturizer to help even things out. I was happy to see that this is made with mainly plant-based ingredients and looks to be vegan as well. It has great reviews on Amazon, so my fingers are crossed.
Samples – I was a bit disappointed to see such “blah” samples included. FabFitFun usually sends some sort of gift card to round out the box, so getting a blister bandage(?) and foil packet samples was a total letdown. Boo.
Obviously, I wasn’t too thrilled with the Summer 2016 FabFitFun box. The fact that I didn’t get a chance to choose my “Select Members” options really irked me, so it was already off to a bad start before it was even shipped. On the other hand, it was still totally worth the cost of the subscription… Even if I only use a handful of the products (especially since the protection cream alone retails for $48.) So although I didn’t love everything, I’m still satisfied. Oh, and the total retail value of everything comes in at almost $230. Nope, can’t argue with that. 😉
