I wasn’t sure if I’d be seeing my October From the Lab beauty box to review this month, which is weird because I usually get it pretty early. For whatever reason, it decided to wait until Friday (the very last day of the month) to make its appearance. Better late than never, right?
If you’re new to them, From the Lab is a monthly beauty box that sends you luxury brand beauty products at a drastically lower cost — months before they’re released to the US market. They source their products from some of the same beauty labs that luxury brands develop their lines in. However, they’re able to offer them at a much lower cost because they don’t do extensive marketing campaigns or worry about pretty packaging. This also allows them to get the products to you as early as 18 months before they hit store shelves.
All of the products offered by From the Lab are held to strict European safety standards and are fully tested and approved before being accepted by them. All of the formulas are also cruelty/animal-free (yay!) and contain only clean ingredients. Each shipment will contain a 30-day supply of 1 to 3 skin care, hair care, or cosmetic items. Boxes are $29.95/month (includes shipping!), or less with longer commitments.
Let’s see what October’s box featured!
First look. The product looks to be a body treatment cream. This is the first month where I’ve gotten just one product in the box. I started my subscription in the summer, when they were sending special edition anniversary boxes with like 5 items in them… I knew that wasn’t the norm though, so I’m not too surprised to see one singular product this time around. Luckily it’s something that I’ll likely use, so that’s a plus anyway.
Contouring Body Treatment No. 634 (Estimated retail value $70+) – This body cream promises to nourish, hydrate, and “remodel” your skin to look smoother and more youthful. It contains plant extracts as well as caffeine, which helps to remove excess fats and fluids, resulting in smooth, contoured skin. You just apply it to your entire body after a bath/shower, focusing on trouble areas (thighs, tummy, booty). Massage it into your skin with deep, circular motions. They also recommend bringing it along with you to a spa to have an actual masseuse apply it to “enhance the experience”. (Too bad they didn’t include a voucher for a free spa session. Now that would be nice.)
The information card/booklet goes into more detail about the specific ingredients that makes the product unique.
I’m no stranger to cellulite and the unfortunate affects of aging (and uh, twin pregnancy), so I’ll definitely give this body treatment a try. It can’t hurt!
If you’d like to sign up for the next From the Lab box, you can get $30 in FREE store credit when use the code “GETFREE30” at checkout! All of the products in your monthly box can usually be re-purchased in their shop for under $20/item! So you’ll be able to snag an item for FREE! Awesome!
