You’ll typically receive 5 to 7 items — all with scents, flavors and colors that coordinate with that month’s theme. Items may include home decor, jewelry, accessories, stationery products, luxurious bath and body products, artisan items, sweet treats, and more.
Subscriptions are $37.99/month or less with multi-month commitments. You can save 10% on your first box with coupon code “ROSE10“!
Let’s see what’s in the May/June 2016 Fruit for Thought box!
The box!
A peek inside. — So bright and cheerful! (And fruity!)
The contents!
The theme for the May/June Fruit for Thought box was “Pina Colada”. All of the items were listed on the sheet above, along with the retail values for each one. (FYI: The theme for the July/August box will be “Blueberry Peach Cobbler”!)
Silly Pineapple Birthday Card ($5.50) – Okay, so the message inside of this card may be a little nonsensical (to me at least), but the happy pineapple guy sure is cute! 😉 The card is designed/drawn by an artist on Etsy and measures 4.25″ x 5.5″. It comes with a bright green coordinating envelope.
Pineapple Tumbler with Straw ($20) – A 16-ounce, BPA-free tumbler featuring gold vinyl pineapple decals. Designed by an artist on Etsy, the tumbler is very sturdy and adorned with high quality commercial grade vinyl. To preserve the integrity of the design, the cup should be hand washed.
Coconut Shell Candle ($12) – Another item made by an Etsy seller (I’m sensing a trend here!), this pina colada scented candle is poured into a real coconut shell. It’s made in Puerto Rico using “artisanly based” paraffin wax and smells just like an actual pina colada.
Coconut Marshmallow Lollipop ($1.45) – Yep, another Etsy-based creation! This handmade lollipop features a coconut marshmallow flavor and is sprinkled with real toasted coconut shavings.
(Love the adorable fruit-themed wrapping paper!)
LoveLeeSoaps Pina Colada Cream Fluff Soap ($6) – A fluffy, whipped soap with the sweet scent of a pina colada. I’m never sure what to do with whipped soap… Like do you just use it as a hand soap, or in the shower as a body wash? The listing on Etsy says that it’s “perfect for hands, feet, arms, legs, and elbows”. So I’m guessing full body? (Do I sound like a total doofus? 😉 )
Pineapple Shaped Bath Sponge ($5.75) – This is one of the few items that wasn’t from an Etsy seller, so I’m not sure of the actual brand/retail price. I found a similar sponge on Amazon for $3.25, which is what I linked to. Either way, it’s a fun little bath product and goes perfectly with the theme.
Pina Colada Candy Sticks, Drink Umbrella, Pineapple Straw ($2.85) – A few more little pina colada/pineapple themed goodies to round out the box!
I’m a sucker for a good theme, so I was really happy with the first Fruit for Thought collection! They curated a really nice mix of items, all of which stayed true to the pina colada theme. I also love that most of the items were sourced from Etsy sellers and not available in conventional stores. The retail value (using the prices on the info sheet) came to roughly $54! — A great debut offering. 🙂 Remember — you can save 10% on your first box with coupon code “ROSE10“!
