Let’s see what’s in the January 2017 My Geek Box!
The box!
A peek inside. — The contents were very well protected this month!
An info card listed all of the items in January’s box, along with brief descriptions for each one.
Free Runners Assassin Alumni T-Shirt ($15?)
January’s exclusive My Geek Box t-shirt featured a red varsity style Assassins Alumni free runner design printed on heather gray. My husband is a fan of Assassins Creed, but I’m wondering if this will look a little too “sporty” for him. Maybe it would have been more geek-appropriate if it were black?
Zak! Designs Kylo Ren Coin Bank ($11.99)
This sculpted ceramic coin bank is the shape of Kylo Ren’s helmet — the newest villain from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It features hand-painted details and has a convenient plug/opening on the bottom (so you won’t have to smash it to get your loot!). It’s also 100% BPA-free.
Star Wars C-3PO Funko POP! Vinyl Figure ($9.85)
I’m always happy to add another Funko figure to my collection. 🙂 I couldn’t get a good photo of it, but C-3PO is standing on his own little Star Wars display stand. (I keep my collection boxed, which makes me kind of a geek, right? Like a wee bit?)
Marvel’s Captain America: The Ultimate Guide to the First Avenger ($18.81)
From Amazon:
Learn everything there is to know about Captain America in Marvel’s Captain America: The Ultimate Guide to the First Avenger. Packed with information about friends, enemies, and storylines, this guide explores the exciting and rich history of the First Avenger.
Follow Steve Rogers’ journey from the sickly and small Army volunteer to the iconic leader of the Avengers as well as his biggest adventures, battles, allies, and foes. Marvel’s Captain America: The Ultimate Guide to the First Avenger focuses on some of the character’s most famous comic book arcs, starting from the 1941 debut of Captain America Comics #1 to modern day.
Featuring a foreword by renowned former president and chairman of Marvel Comics Stan Lee, Stan Lee, Marvel’s Captain America: The Ultimate Guide to the First Avenger is the essential reading for any Captain America fan.
While I’m not much of a Captain America fan myself, this is clearly an awesome book for those who are. Plus, it has cool metallic silver paint(?) along the page edges. Neat-o!
Transformers Mini Figure Blind Bag (~$2)
The last item was a Transformers mini figure blind bag (series 2). I never open these because I have no idea what I would do with the tiny figure inside. I like to keep the mystery unsolved. 😉
Another solid offering from My Geek Box! My favorite item was definitely the Funko figure. I usually don’t do a cost breakdown for this box, but I decided to give it a go this month and came up with a total retail (well, Amazon) value of just under $60. Not bad! 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can get a FREE Mystery Past Box with any new subscription. You can also get free shipping on your first box when that deal expires. (No coupon needed.)
