It’s November 2016 My Geek Box unboxing time!
If you’re not aware, My Geek Box is a monthly geek/gamer subscription box based out of the UK. Each box will feature a limited edition t-shirt, along with 4 to 7 other geek-inspired goodies. Items can include collectible figures, books, wearables, mugs, keychains, toys, comics, and more. They also offer a Pop! and a Top box that includes a t-shirt and mystery Funko Pop! vinyl figure, as well as My Geek Box Kids that features more kid-friendly geek & gamer items.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
My Geek Box subscriptions are $26.09/month (plus $3.99 shipping), or less with multi-month commitments. — For a limited time, you can get free shipping on your first box. (No coupon needed.)
Let’s see what’s in the November 2016 My Geek Box!
The big blue box.
A peek inside!
What’s this?! — An info card! Yep, My Geek Box has finally begun including an info card in their box. It included a full list of all the items inside, along with brief descriptions for each one.
“Friends Don’t Lie” T-Shirt – A My Geek Box exclusive, this tee features the quote “Friends Don’t Lie” from the Netflix hit Stranger Things. My husband is a fan of the show and really liked the simple design of the shirt (and the fact that it’s black). I sort of half watched it while doing other things and thought it was pretty good, considering that I usually don’t like anything even remotely sci-fi.
Magic the Gathering Sarkhan Vol Funko POP Vinyl – I don’t know a thing about Magic the Gathering, but I do enjoy adding new POPs to my collection. According to the description on Amazon, Sarkhan Vol stands in his battle armor and is wielding his staff. Giggity.
Marvel Molded Venom Mug – I received this same mug a while back from another geek box, so I was kinda bummed to get another one (especially since the first one is still sitting in its box). That said, it’s no fault of My Geek Box that I already own this completely terrifying ceramic drinking vessel.
Marvel Champions #1 Comic Book – An exclusive variant cover first issue of this comic set in the fallout of Civil War II. I’m not sure why it wasn’t bagged and boarded for collectors, but since I’m not a comic book collector, I’m fine with it.
Fantastic Beasts Map – Thanks to Google, I learned that a “Mappa Mundi” is any medieval European map of the world. This one is based on JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them and measures 36″ x 24″ large.
I thought November’s My Geek Box was definitely an improvement over the last few boxes. The Stranger Things shirt was great and I’m happy to add another Funko POP to my ever-growing collection. 🙂 — Remember if you’d like to subscribe, for a limited time you can get free shipping on your first box.
