Gfreely is a monthly subscription box for gluten-free snacks. As you can see from the photo above, they pack the boxes with a nice assortment of gluten-less goodies for all your healthy snackin’ needs.
Boxes are $25/month (with a monthly sub, shipping included) or as low as $19/mo with a 3 or 6 month commitment. Like something you receive in your box and wanna buy more? Gfreely has an online shop chock full o’ all your faves. Yay for convenience!
Okay, time to see what’s in the August box…
Surf Sweets Jelly Beans – I ate these as soon as I opened the box. 100% natural, organic jelly beans sweetened with actual fruit juice. Absolutely nothing artificial. Non-GMO. Oh, and no gelatin! Woo!
Mavuno Harvest Mangoes – All natural, organic dried mango. These are grown and ethically harvested on Ugandan farms. Fair trade certified. No sugar, no preservatives… Nothing but mangoes. 🙂
Rise Breakfast Bar in Crunchy Perfect Pumpkin – This sounds so good! The package describes it as “hearty chunks of fruit and nuts to fuel your morning”. It’s gluten free (duh) and also free of dairy, GMOs, soy, and peanuts. Sadly, it does have honey, but I don’t give a rip about honey, so I’ll eat it… But other strict vegans take note.
The Good Bean Chickpea Snacks – I’ve had other chickpea snacks before and wasn’t a fan… However, those were a different, more “complex” flavor. These ones are just “lightly dusted” with plain ol’ sea salt, so maybe I’ll have better luck this time. They’re high in protein & fiber, and they have 40% less fat than nuts! Woah. I really do hope I like these!
CocoaSlims Dessert Crackers – I’ve never heard of “dessert crackers” before. The product info on Amazon says to try them as a topping on ice cream, cereal, or yogurt… Or under a slice of cheese or piece of fruit. Weird. The only review listed says that it smells and tastes like Play-doh. haha I’m kinda glad this one isn’t vegan. 😉
Pretzel Perfection Twice-Baked Pretzel Sticks – I was bummed to see that these weren’t vegan, and then straight-up confused when I saw that they contain both “butter (cream, milk, salt)” AND “organic vegan Worcestershire sauce”. How odd!
TruRoots Qookies Orange Ginger Cookies – I was excited to see that these cookies, er “Qookies”, were vegan! They’re made with sprouted ingredients and sweetened with coconut sugar. You can definitely tell that they’re healthy cos they don’t taste like your average cookie. However, that didn’t stop me from eating like 4 of ’em when I opened the box.
Popcorners White Cheddar Popped Corn Chips – Popcorn, in chip form! Made with all natural ingredients, and of course, gluten-free. I’m really curious what these are like. They come in other flavors, including vegan-friendly sea salt. Hopefully I’ll come across those ones some day!
Deeply Rooted Roots Superfood Blend – This is a blend of powdered fruits and veggies that is supposed to provide “a whole day’s worth of super foods”. There were 2 packets included in blueberry flavor. I’m a bit nervous to try this because I made the mistake of reading the sole Amazon review and it… wasn’t good. 🙁
Naked Wines gift card – These things have shown up in just about every damn subscription box I’ve gotten over the last few months. The offer sounds good — $50 of free wine — until you go to the site. You have to buy like 6 bottles minimum and play $10 shipping. Maybe it’s worth it to someone who plans on buying a bunch of wine anyway, but not for me. In fact, feel free to use the info on the card, since I totally forgot to blur it out. First one who tries it, gets it. 😉
Vigilant Eats Superfood Cereal – Goji-Cacao flavor. I’ve gotten this in another box before and was hesitant to try it. You mix it with cold water, which I found odd and I gotta say, I wasn’t a fan. There were little cocoa nibs that would have been good in something more dessert-y, but it tasted super out of place in oatmeal. I ate about half and called it a day. It’s made with tons of good-for-you stuff though, so I say give it a whirl and see what you think.
My feelings on the last few products aside, I think this was a pretty good box. It had a nice mix of different items — salty snacks, sweet snacks, breakfast foods, etc. Definitely a great box for anyone who avoids gluten in their diet, or just wants to eat healthier.
