Time to check out the second April 2017 GlobeIn box! — This month subscribers were able to choose from two different themes — “Sustain” or “Eco-to-Go”. I reviewed the Sustain box a couple days ago, so now it’s Eco-to-Go time!
If you’re not aware, GlobeIn is a monthly subscription box that features handcrafted goods by artisans around the world. Each month features a new theme with products supplied by various artisans. GlobeIn helps to bring income and exposure to small artists, while introducing you to beautiful pieces of their culture. Many of the products included are eco-friendly, fairly traded, and/or organic.
Subscriptions are $40/month (shipping included), or less with multi-month commitments. — For a limited time, you can save $10 on your first month with any 3-month or longer subscription with coupon code “WELCOME“.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Let’s see what’s inside the April 2017 “Eco to Go” GlobeIn box!
As always, everything was shipped in the signature green & white GlobeIn box.
A peek inside!
A small info booklet featured full color photos and background information on all of the products included in the box, as well as the artisans who created them.
Prana Market Tote, India ($25)
This large, hand crafted market tote is made of organic cotton and produced under Fair Trade standards. I have a gazillion totes (thanks to subscription boxes), but I love that this one is so roomy. I included a photo of the expandable bottom to show just how much stuff it can hold. It’ll be perfect for taking to the farmer’s market, beach, library, or just about anywhere that calls for a roomy tote.
KeepCup Brew Glass Coffee Cup, Portugal & US ($25)
A smart alternative to paper/styrofoam cups, this glass travel mug features an innovative eco-friendly design. The mug itself is made of fully tempered soda lime glass, while the cork band helps to keep your beverage warm and your hands burn-free. Each lid is individually hand fitted to the glass and has a built-in mouthpiece with plug to cover it when not in use. Everything is non-toxic and BPA/BPS free. 🙂
Metallic Block Print Coin Purse, India ($10)
This little coin purse is made of 100% cotton and was decorated using a traditional Indian block print method. In order to save water and modernize the process, they’ve used unbleached cotton and natural, non-toxic dyes.
Alaffia Purely Coconut Fair Trade Lip Balm, Togo ($3)
Lip balms are a popular subscription box exclusion, but very few of them are vegan-friendly so I was happy to see that this one was! It’s handcrafted with Fair Trade ingredients including coconut oil, candelilla wax, cocoa butter, and natural coconut flavor.
GlobeIn Greeting Card, ($3)
I’m not sure that I would consider this flat 6″ x 4″ print a greeting card, but it includes a nice sentiment nonetheless.
Shop Soko $25 Off Card
Also included was a discount code for $25 off any purchase of $80 or more from Shop Soko, an online shop that sells handcrafted goods and supports the artisans who made them.
Another nicely curated April theme from GlobeIn! My personal favorite items were the roomy tote bag and the eco-friendly travel mug. The total retail value of all the items was $66. Not bad! — Remember, for a limited time you can save $10 on your first month with any 3-month or longer subscription with coupon code “WELCOME“.
